disappointing

Pros: cleanliness
Cons: not charging guests with additional costs after the have checked out. You should not advertise breakfast without having any, the hotel owes us money.
Location: Noisey
We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past, in was in need of updating. They have remodeled and finally the linens, carpet and room décor was new. The rooms were clean and maid service was excellent. We were promised breakfast daily....but were told that there was a Starbucks across the street !!! But, hey we made it to " The Original House of Pancakes" &" Yolks" which were both excellent, great staff at both. We checked out of the hotel and when we arrived home I checked my bank account and we were charged an additional $292.27 without our knowledge. When I called the hotel I was told they charged us a deposit without our knowledge. I do believe it is illegal to add on to a bill after the guest has checked out. Outraged

Hi Cyndi. Thank you for staying with us. Yes unfortunately we discontinued the complimentary continental breakfast in January. Not sure where you saw this and who would have promised it. ??? The authorization you speak of was obtained when you checked in. This is standard procedure for hotels. The difference should have just dropped off. Sorry if there was confusion. Glad you enjoyed our neighborhood. There are countless options for breakfast and beyond. Thank you. Please come visit us again.

Disappointing

Pros: Checking out
Cons: Fix your drains, get door seal insulation around the perimeter of the doors and fix AC/Heating unit.
Location: Sleeping was difficult so I could soak in the night sounds of Chicago. There were many...
The heating/cooling system in the room only worked intermittently, not cooling when I turned the dial to 'COOL'. When I called the front desk I received a quick response but his suggestion was just to let it blow cold air all night. The drains were clogged in the sink and the shower so I ended up standing in ankle-deep water. Good news - it had drained by the time I got back that evening. The gaps in the door frame let light flood into the room overnight. I stayed on the second floor so that had something to do with the fact that I could participate in conversations with those walking by on the sidewalk because I could hear EVERYTHING through the poor-quality window.

Nice hotel near the lake and Lincoln Park.

Pros: The hotel was nicely decorated and clean. It has a great location, near Lake Michigan and the Lincoln Park Conservatory.
Nice neighborhood with good restaurants and people enjoying the nearby lake and park.

Too expensive

For what I paid, which was too much, I could have stayed down on Michigan. Room was okay, if I was paying about 1/4 of what I paid. It was to late by the time I checked in, visiting family, to find something else. Look someplace else, this was a rent by the week place at one time from what I could tell. Bathroom was unacceptable!

Nice staff, close to plenty of restaurants and stores. The room was a little snug but good for the price. Staff was great and valley was great.

Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate you taking time to share your experience. Please note, the hotel has several room types ranging from standards with full beds to business class with king beds. On your next visit, we suggest the latter; it is the most popular room type. You will find it is quite spacious, and it includes a microwave, mini fridge and complimentary snacks. Best,

Location: walked home from wrigley field after a cubes game! easy access to downtown via the metro train!
i came to Lincoln Park to visit my son who attends De Paul Univ., this location was perfect for great restaurants within walking distance, metro station is just a few blocks away that can take you downtown in minutes. i would definitely return.

Beautiful hotel for this first-timer to Chicago!

Pros: Very comfortable, clean, great location.
We really enjoyed staying here. It was a very comfortable room (we stayed in a business room)--spacious, super comfortable beds, and very bright. The staff were helpful with all of my questions about how to get around town. There are never-ending shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast was a little sparse on protein options (very carb-heavy with waffles, donuts and bagels), but there's also a Trader Joe's right across the street if you need a little something more.
