The hotel is special and beautiful. We liked the location and we liked the facility. Bell boy/concierge were fantastic.
Now the not so great part.
We had a nice guy checking us in but we didn't appreciate the pressure he put on us to upgrade the room. with no way to get out of it and with our young exhausted kids who were flying all night and could barely stay awake (we came for the Marathon) we gave up and agreed to pay the extra $150 dollar (how stupid of us, but we were so tired and just wanted to get the damn keys). needless to say we were not left with a good taste after that. The room was clean, no view at all. Upgrading a room (we then understood that the upgrade was for the extra bathroom which we didn't need to use) and getting the view of a prison cell??! Not fair. The room did have a smell and we asked the housekeeping about it they asked us to go downstairs and change the room, We didn't do it, we were too tired and pre occupied with the marathon preparations. Everything else was ok, could have been nice to receive a bottle of complimentary water but whatever. It's ok, Pricy hotel that has some great history.
