The Tiger was an icon of Columbia when I grew up there in the 1950s. A recent (~5 yr) renovation brought it into 21st century condition for the most part, but there’s no substitute for ongoing maintenance and continuing upgrades. The carpet on the entrance staircase was already worn, the electronic locks were not functioning, and the staff insufficient. Parking was expensive for Columbia, or diy parking cheap but awkward. We arrived in the rain, and would have used the valet, but there wasn’t one on duty.?? Still, it’s the most convenient. Attached Glenn’s cafe was good, and servers there were helpful.

This is our second year staying here and although we really love the hotel, this is also the second year we’ve had the exact same room. Both years the room was extremely cold. Upon looking closer, there was a very large draft coming from the window. Once we felt around the window, there was actually a hole/crack where the air was coming through. Otherwise the room was extremely nice.

Hello there, Many thanks for your review of the hotel. We regret the 3 hour outage that we had with the elevator system the other night. Although the repair took less than 5 minutes for the serviceman, the delay was due to having to bring in a serviceman from out of town due to it being a weekend night. I truly apologize for the inconvenience during those 3 hours of the outage and hope that you give us another opportunity to serve you.
