This hotel is all about location, right in the center of a bustling commercial district, with ready access to all the shopping, cafes, bars, and waterfront nightlife you could want. The hotel itself is what I call "EuroModern"; by that, I mean that it looks like Ikea built the hotel. The rooms are small and not lavishly equipped, but if you're spending a lot of time in your room in Cartagena, you're wasting your time. The NH is convenient to the bus terminal where, for almost nothing, you can buy a ticket for a thirty-minute ride to La Manga and enjoy the beach all day. It's about $10 for a taxi to get to the farthest decent shopping point in the city, El Corte Ingles, and it's an easy walk to just about anywhere else.
