Food was good, staff was TERRIBLE

I traveled with 5 other people booking a total of 3 rooms. Our initial thought upon arrival was amazing. We were greeted with donuts and bottled water, check-in was smooth and easy, front desk women were very nice. One of our rooms wasn't ready yet, so we went the The Grill to eat since we had been traveling all day. The service was TERRIBLE. We got our food in waves, werent offered any water, barely saw our waiter (it was if we were in a corner and forgotten about) and as our food actually arrived, it wasn't any good. The pool staff were the best! HUGE THANK YOU TO DANIEL; everyday that he was working he did his best to make sure we got what we needed/wanted; from water to drinks to food, he was amazing. I can't express how frustrating it was that there was no place on the resort to get food from from 11:00am-12:00pm; not even room service. The food that they had at the one buffet was OK but my group and I found ourselves avoiding it due to the staff were literally asking us for tips, even if all they had done was pour water. The staff are so expecting of tips that it was becoming quite annoying; especially seeing how our group ALWAYS tips anyways, even though our price included taxes and gratuities. They consistently made us feel like we owed them something after everything. At the bar in the lobby, Yolanda was AMAZING. We couldn't say enough good things about her; she was GREAT. The rooms were comfortable but the lobby and the elevators were scorching hot, no AC at all.
