Overrated and Expensive

Posted Feb 28, 2017
Pros: Breakfast, Pools, Playground, Beach
Cons: - Hotel look in general (repairs need to be done). Hotel looks old. - Train the staff not to harass the customer with time share sales. - Restaurants
Location: The hotel is conveniently located.
I stayed on a Oceanfront room from feb 18 to 23rd. The hotel is nice, and we have a great time in Cancun, however for the price (especially the price of food service) is really NOT worthy. I think we should have better stayed at a All Inclusive Hotel. This is our third time in Cancun. First time in a non all inclusive. We really wanted to treat ourselves with something more exclusive. The hotel looks old, really need a refreshement on its decoration, the room looked old and had like a mold smell. My biggest complain really is the quality of the restaurants.TERRIBLE and expensive. The outdoor beach front restaurant that they use for lunch and buffet dinner is descried as "international". don't be fooled by this..is NOT!The little informal café inside the hotel is average. We didn't get to try the French restaurant because it was adults only. Honestly for the amount of money you are charged to eat on this restaurants, it is much better to stay at a all inclusive. We ended up paying almost $1000 within 4 days stay in food and drinks (and we didn't even have dinner very night there). The staff is friendly. The ladies on the customer service desk can be annoying trying to get you to attend one of those TIme Share meetings. One of the biggest thing that got me upset was when one of the male staff at the bar (located at the center of the pool) confronted and questioned me about the amount of tip I have left for him. Not cool!. A tip is at the customer's discretion.

Great place

Posted Feb 16, 2017
Nice location very close to the beach. Many pools. Great staff. Super breakfast. Some of the pool patios looked a little tired, but the pools were great. Chairs at the pool need cushions. The room was clean with both morning and evening service. The a.c. seemed a bit sour in the room, but it did cool the room. Nice soaps. They had a nice handicap access on the beach. The JW Marriott has an edge in our view, pretty respectable place.

Location, location, location...

Posted Jan 10, 2017
Pros: Location, beach and Grand Club
Cons: My only issue was that housekeeping forgot to clean our room one day which I found odd on the Grand Club level.
Location: Watersports, Ventura Park (Kid's water park and arcade)
Had a wonderful stay with my 9 yr old son. We upgraded to the Grand Club level which is worth every penny when traveling with kids (always hungry, always thirsty). Lovely hotel with hard working staff. Lots of restaurants and shopping walking or bus distance away. Ironically we really didn't really leave the hotel as we didn't want to! Food was delicious and very reasonable (kids eat free in restaurants if order off kids menu). The beach was a gem as not all the resorts have walk out beaches. Although not an issue at this resort the people trying to sell "time shares" or what they now call "residences" are relentless. It was difficult to even get out of the airport and walk around on the streets.

An oasis in the heart of Cancun's Hotel Zone

Posted Oct 12, 2016
Pros: See above! Everything!
Cons: Dinner buffet options were limited, and we didn't have proper attire for the steak house.
Location: The hotel is behind the convention center. There is a flea market for trinkets, and upscale mall. There are several awesome nightclubs within a walk.
We just needed a one night stay closer to the airport, and we loved the hotel so much, we didn't even leave it to explore! It's located right behind the convention center, is on a gorgeous beach with all kinds of fun things to do. It's right next to where the Isla Mujeres ferry docks for an easy day trip over, or a place to stay before you fly. The pools are gorgeous, too. Service was impeccable. The room was stunning and very clean. The Sunday brunch had everything from Mexican specialties, smoothie bar, fresh fruit, and even miso and Japanese options. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in their 20's on up, but only because I wasn't even looking for kids' activities.

Fiesta Americana Corral Beach

Posted Sep 15, 2016
Pros: Room service was exceptional, breakfast was great, location was awsome, you can walk to the ferries to go to the Isla de la mujeres
Cons: I have nothing to complain about.
Location: Lots of night life, restaurants, activities all within walking distance.
It was my first time to Cancun, and didn't know what to expect. I was so impressed with the service from the minute I walked into the hotel till I left. It is centrally located in the heart of the hotelier zona, everything was within walking distance from, coco bongo, senior frogs, hard rock cafe, & many other places.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous beach and pools!

Posted Aug 24, 2016
Pros: beach, pools, spa, restaurants, staff: all excellent!
Cons: They called us each morning to try to sell us on some promotion that we had to keep telling them we didn't want. It was annoying.
Location: Lots of shopping, touristy stuff nearby. But nice since we had easy access to stores. Also, just a city bus ride away from many cool restaurants
We had a fabulous time, would highly recommend! A+!

Very nice hotel. Staff very friendly.

Posted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: Just about everything
Cons: Pool side resesturant. food bad.
Location: Take ferry to out island. go to Carlos and Charlies for a good time and good food.
Outstanding resort. very clean rooms. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Would recommend to anyone. the pool bar prepared very good drinks. We did notice that if you had an all inclusive package, the drinks were much weaker. Our daughter and husband had all inclusive package and we tasted their drinks compared to ours. Big difference. Only issues were with food. Breakfast always good. Buffet excellent although pricey. Evening Buffet out in pool area was worst food in complex. Meat was tough. their sauces had no real flavor. Very much over priced. Would not eat there again. The cafe was also good. Their pizza (although not like in US) were very good. Nice touches with room service. Would I come back? I think so, now I know where to eat.
