Great Place

We love GR Solaris. It is a smaller resort but that's what makes it so good. No need to spend alot of time to get where you are going. The staff are awesome. The senorita that make the omelets at breakfast is great. Lunch at pool is always tasty with the pizza absolutely the best. The rooms are fine although the beds are starting to need to be replaced. If you like a hard bed then no problem. We always upgrade to an oceanview which is well worth it. Just a nice resort, great staff and spa.

Not the best

Pros: The staff was great.
Cons: Needs to be updated.
Ok for first timers or on a budget. The hotel can use some upgrades. More food selection would be nice.

Good hotel & nice facilities. Staff is ok. Checking in was not as smooth as it should be. Front desk did not explain about the 24 hr advance reservations for the dinner at restaurants on premises. Guests are not allowed the same day without reservations even if the restaurant is not full, which was strange.

Dear KP: Reservations are made to have a better control of the restaurant and provide a specialized service for the category of restaurant that is. (elegant gourmet) Every night we booked 180 guests with 5 seatings. Strategies have been made to reduce complaints such as: schedule changes more accessible for our guests and have increased the number of reservations from 130 to 180 per night. However thank you pointing out about the lack of information regarding this matter. Excellent staffing and its right on the beach

The staff was excellent.. The drinks were plentiful but could be stronger .. The beach was clean and the pools were clean .. Overall experience was good.. The only fault would be the rooms could use some updating..

Nice hotel close to the beach

The food and shows were good, much better than the sit down dinner at the Marco Polo. Dress code too stringent for service received and the quality of food served. Proximity to the beach was excellent. The rooms were acceptable but have stayed at better. Toiletries were limited. (Non bath cap was included). Iron was not cleaned and the steam soiled our clothes.

Overall was a very nice hotel. We arrive earlier than expected and they accommodate us and check us in without additional fee. Dinner choices wasn't that great but breakfast and lunch was ok. I was there with my 21 u r old daughter so after 10pm there was nothing really to do and the clubs outside was very pricey however if you are a family that just want to relax it's really a nice hotel.I would go back there again. Staff is friendly and they try to accommodate you as much as possible. Overall experience wasn't bad. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

The staff was rude and didn't care about the guest. We only could eat at one restaurant which was not great. My boyfriend didn't bring any jeans therefore we were not allowed in the other restaurants which was completely ridiculous considering the amount of money we spent to stay here. Maybe they should rethink their policies! It's the end of June in Mexico, who brings jeans. Nice shirt, closed toe shoes, not a problem...jeans...not so much! Other than that hotel was fairly clean. Needs some maintenance and up keep. The rooms were cold so that was a plus. Overall I would not go back.

Great Service, extremely clean, and AMAZING staff!

Pros: Very clean and the staff members made the stay enjoyable and welcoming!
Cons: Room tidiness was not the best, but still OK.
Location: Downtown Cancun is a best and if you get a chance to do the Captain Hook dinner cruise, it is a MUST-SEE!
My mom and I stayed here for a week and it was amazing! The hotel itself is a bit far from downtown Cancun but you can take a bus that runs every 5 mins for about $1 (USD) and it'll have you there in 10-15 mins. The buses are very safe and run 24 hours. The staff was amazing and made our experience much more enjoyable!! If you get a chance to meet IRVING the server, HE IS THE BESTTTTTTTT! The drinks keep flowing and the facilities are well kept! I would definitely stay here again! Good job GR Solaris! Also, the staff speaks Spanish and English very well, so you won't have a problem if you don't speak the native tongue! LOVED IT! 5/5!
