The room has no sound insulation

Posted Nov 29, 2016
We were put in a room connected to another room. The two rooms separated by a door. We could clearly hear every tiny sound from other room. The first night were wakes up at 3:00 am by the alarm from next room. Second night were wakes up again by loun noise of some drunk girls next room. This has been the worst hotel room we have ever stayed and felt like sleep with some strangers in a same room.

Management was terrible..

Posted Nov 6, 2016
Pros: Some waiters and waitresses were nice and accommodating. Including our person who cleaned our room, Rigo, very clean..
Cons: Management and consigliere, they were horrible. Made us wait, did not give us the room we had paid for. They split our beds.
Location: Easy access to buses, every five minutes.
Waiters/waitresses and other staff members where great. The hotel room was clean. The management and people trying to sell their time share were horrible. Always harassing, did not want to even call us a taxi, cus they believed we were going to another hotel to view their time shares, so we had to take a bus.

Dear Edgar: Regarding the perception you had from our in-house department, we like to inform you that we do make an invitation to our guests to join our membership program; we apologize if you felt harassed, it wasn’t our intention. Nevertheless we have talked with the department involved to take immediate action and make the proper adjustments with the concierge’s services towards our guests. Finally, thank you for your review on Travelocity and we had liked that you would have lived the typical Solaris experience and being pampered as you deserve. Sincerely yours: Hoteles Solaris de México, ^P

OVERALL 3 STAR HOTEL

Posted Oct 16, 2016
HOTEL LOCATION IS OK.. YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED WITH THE BEACH... POOLS ARE NICE.. ENTERTAINMENT STAFF IS GREAT.. HOWEVER THE ROOMS NEED A SERIOUS UPGRADE.. THE MATRESSES NEED TO BE REPLACED ( MY BODY STILL HURTS BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO HARD) ANOTHER THING THE WALLS MIGHT BE TOO THIN.. I KEPT WAKING UP EVERYTIME MY NEIGHBOR COUGHS OR SNEEZES. FOOD WAS NOT BAD HOWEVER THE WAITERS WERE PUSHY WITH THE TIPS. DRINKS WERE GREAT THATS A PLUS AND THE SHOW WAS ALWAYS GOOD.. I REALLY THINK THEY SHOULD CHANGE THE TENNIS COURT FOR A BASKETBALL INSTEAD. THIS IS MY HONEST AND MOST SINCERE REVIEW PLEASE CHANGE THOSE MATRESSES.. THANK YOU

Dear Rick: Thank you for pointing out several details on your feedback as well we appreciate your acknowledgments on other areas. Regarding the beds, the mattresses at the resort are orthopedic; mostly used in hotels especially design to offer a goodnight sleep to all our guests. Please try to consider it depends on the different preference that each person has; however we offer a pillow top to any guest who still finds it hard. We apologize for not achieving your standard, nevertheless we have already informed the General Manager and the department involved. Finally, we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you in the future to enhance your experience and perception of the Hotel. Best regards from Cancun!!! Hoteles Solaris de México, ^P

Didn't want to leave.

Posted Oct 13, 2016
Location: Close to the airport. (15 minute drive). Beach is close and has a 20 foot sandbar. Parasailing, volleyball, jetskis. Clubs and bars are nearby.
Friendly employees. Good food. Plenty of activities. Not too big or small of a resort. Tipping will give you even better service.

Great Place

Posted Sep 22, 2016
We love GR Solaris. It is a smaller resort but that's what makes it so good. No need to spend alot of time to get where you are going. The staff are awesome. The senorita that make the omelets at breakfast is great. Lunch at pool is always tasty with the pizza absolutely the best. The rooms are fine although the beds are starting to need to be replaced. If you like a hard bed then no problem. We always upgrade to an oceanview which is well worth it. Just a nice resort, great staff and spa.

Romantic Getaway

Posted Sep 9, 2016 on Expedia
First time staying at this hotel and I will definitely come back. The only thing negative about the hotel is that the room smelled like mold. I couldn't stand the smell. However, the fact that the staff was amazing made it better. We met Edgar who was amazing and helped us with all the questions and needs. We were served by Armando, odely, and Jair they were awesome. There was a couple more but I can't remember their names. You must see Edgar he'll hook you up with great tour prices and Just remember to tip all those servers thats how they make their money. I will be coming back just because of the amazing staff. Food was ok not the best but Marco Polo was good!

Dear Cynthia: We appreciate your kind words. On the other hand, we do our best to keep the rooms and building immaculate. The humidity is very high in Cancun, we recommend our guest to not leave the doors and windows open when they get out of their room if they do not want to find a room with musty smell in their return. However, we regret the inconveniences and we have already informed the department in charge to be more attentive on this matter. Nevertheless, we are happy your overall experience was good and have felt an exceptional service from all the staff, especially the ones you mentioned. Finally, we look forward to welcoming you back once again to your now paradisiacal getaway and create many more memorable GR Solaris experiences. Best regards from sunny Cancun! The front desk staff are horrible! Upon check in our room wasn't ready, and the wifi is very deceiving. You have to pay $18 per day per device. On top of that, the wifi wasn't working and the staff wanted me to contact technical support to get it fixed!?!..on vacation!? The staff by the pool was very nice so that helped make our visit better. There are a lot of outside activities to do each day which was fun.

Really liked this place

Posted Sep 8, 2016 on Expedia
Pros: The staff and the overall resort was great!
Cons: My only wish is that there were more 'club like' activities at night other than the Lounge Bar.
First, let me start with the people who went above and beyond at GR Solaris. Glena was awesome and was so sweet and wonderful! Bartenders Andres and Edgar were wonderful and we really enjoyed them. All the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. The food is different, but it was not bad. I did like the deli and pizza and snack bar. It was nice being able to walk up and grab something after being in the pool. The room was very clean and had a great view. The air was cold and I had no issues with the room. I did enjoy the 24 hour room service...that was awesome! This resort is smaller than the other resorts, but you are really taken care of by the staff versus a larger resort. All in all, I would stay again and recommend GR Solaris to my friends.

You get what you pay for

Posted Sep 8, 2016 on Expedia
Pros: The pool was great and the beach just a few steps away.
Cons: There should always be someone at the front desk. Give necessary info to your guests upon arrival. Maybe fumigate?
Location: There isn't anything that close except other resorts. The more exciting area is about 15 minutes away.
We waited more than 5 minutes to be greeted by someone at the front desk to check in. We hardly got any info about the hotel until the second day when we had to go ask about restaurants etc. This info should be provided upon check in, we were so lost! Fortunately Edgar from the Concierge came to our rescue to give us all the info we needed and great advice. He really did make our stay that much better. The pool was great. The food and drinks were not great. There were bugs in food plates and eating areas. And in order to receive better food and drinks you have to join their vacation club which of course costs a lot more. If I have to pay more for quality I would rather stay elsewhere.

Dear Felicia: We are very sad to read the situation you have experienced during your stay at the resort; we assure you that is not the top notch service we have known for all our guests. About the FrontDesk it is very strange to read that no one was there to attend the guests, however we will ask explanations to the FrontDesk department about this situation. Please accept our sincerest apologies for not meeting your expectations. We can assure you that this is not the typical Solaris experience, also thank you Felicia for your review on Expedia. Felicidad total

Posted Sep 7, 2016 on Expedia
