It is LOUD but you are downtown in the middle of the bar district! What do you expect? Great stay and would stay here again

I loved that the property was close to all of the action. The hotel was a bit noisy, but it wasn’t a problem for us because it made us feel close to the action. If you are looking for quiet, this may not be your hotel.

The occasional previous reviews mentioning noise concerns are right. But front desk staff cracked me up when checking in, saying room selection is important on Saturday night. He asked me if we plan to be back to the room before 2am and sleep. "Yes". So, he placed us on the top floor and away from the noisy street and bar scenes. We could still hear the crowds and music, but not disturbing.

Any additional information would be appreciated greatly. We are dedicated to being the best hotel in Raleigh! I would like to apologize about the noise outside of the hotel. We are located right in the middle of the hospitality district so there is always something going on in the neighborhood. We are currently looking into various noise cancelling solutions that will benefit our hotel guests. Again, I am very sorry about the level of outside noise. I was on the third floor. When I checked into my room, I noticed that there were two pairs of earplugs on the desk. Things seemed pretty quite at the time, so I did not worry. Went out for dinner and a movie with my college age son. Came back to my room around 11:30, and heard some thumping base coming from the window. Opened the curtains, and saw that there was a bar just across the street with people sitting outside drinking and listen to music. Immediately called the manager to complain about the noise. He apologized for the inconvenience, and said that he would call the manager of the bar to ask the to turn down the music. Thirty minutes later the music was still thumping. I call the manager again. He said that he has called the police and would comp my room. He also said that the bar was not usually a problem on a Tuesday night (hmm, then why the earplugs on the desk?). The music did not stop until after 2:00 am. Seems like a great hotel that is ruined by late night music.

Great place for the Glenwood Area

Pros: CJ and the staff
Cons: Could do a little better monitoring the breakfast area - coffee station ran out of skim milk, stirrers, and cups.
Location: Great location. Lots of neighborhood restaurants and bars. Go to IMURJ (pronounced "emerge") to check out some great music.
The hotel was set back of the main road (Glenwood) and was easy to get in and out. Our room was quiet even with the all the local bars and music. Nice touch - ear plugs in the room, just in case. Staff was very friendly - CJ checked us in quickly while we joked about nice weather.
