La Quinta Inn & Suites Chicago Downtown

"Better than expected"
This hotel exceeded our expectations: the room was big, clean, and in almost new condition; had a very nice breakfast with many choices (bacon, egg, sausage was offered each morning, I had no problems getting waffles even when there were hardly any tables empty, oatmeal, pastries, fruits, hard boiled eggs, bagels etc.) The staff was very helpful and kind. The location of the hotel was convenient: Willis Tower is the closest sight, about 4 minutes away. This is also where one can get on the Hop-On Hop-Off bus. Rentable bikes are even closer. Michigan Avenue is in walking distance (10 min) as is the Beam. The Navy Pier is a little farther but we still walked there. Trump Tower is about 12 minutes away. Many restaurants around there. The only one thing that we would have liked to see: minibar in the fridge. We had a fridge, coffee station & a microwave but nothing in the fridge.

"Great location, needs more staffing"
This hotel is in a wonderful location, close to the Art Institute and Grant Park. The room was clean and comfortable. However, we had to wait a long time to check in, then when we got to our room the keys did not work. The next day, after going out, the room key did not work. Both times, again, I had to wait a long time to get new keys that work.

"Great hotel in fabulous location!"
We were dropping off our son at college. We have stayed at several Chicago hotels and have spent a lot of time in Chicago, but I really loved the hotel and the location. This one was beautiful, very clean, great service, and the room was large with 2 bathrooms at a very reasonable rate, with in/out parking included...a big plus when staying downtown! Parking needs to be factored into your cost because many places charge a lot over and above your hotel cost and don't allow in/out privileges. GREAT location...right on S. Michigan across from Grant Park. Great area for walking around, great feel of Chicago. I would definitely recommend staying here!

"Nice location but needs to be updated"
I love the location of this hotel. It was close to Grant and Millennium Park for the Taste of Chicago. Everything that we wanted to do was walking distance. The lobby area was beautiful but my room was just ok. The shower had a slow drain and left the tub filthy. The cold water on the sink did not work properly either. We called hospitality to have it fixed however it was never fixed even though we were told it was fixed. I did like the size of the room.

"Great hotel! great location!"
The hotel was under construction when we stayed so there wasn't even a lobby but the staff were very friendly and accommodating under those conditions. The rooms were very clean and cozy! View was amazing! Beds were very comfortable but we had double beds and it was hard for two people to fit in them. All in all, we had a blast in Chicago and would definitely stay at this hotel again!

    Bronzeville Hotel & Travel Guide

Once referred to as the Black Metropolis, the Bronzeville district is a Chicago landmark, highlighting its important role in the city's development. Near several colleges on Chicago's South Side, it lies within the larger Douglas and Grand Boulevard communities. As one of the most important areas for escaped slaves coming to Illinois seeking industrial jobs during the Great Migration, Bronzeville is a noted center for African-American history. Bronzeville is home to the first African-American YMCA, which is where Black History Month has its origins, and many liken the happenings here to Chicago's own Harlem Renaissance. Bronzeville hotels offer close proximity to Chicago, as well as immersion in one of the Windy City's most fascinating and important neighborhoods.
