Beautiful hotel on the Boston waterfront

Pros: Staff attitude
Cons: It is expensive and our stays will be limited to times when we can get good rates.
Location: Right on the water; easy walk to most Boston sights.
This modern and elegant hotel is a lovely and comfortable place to stay. What really stands out is the warm, friendly and helpful staff. Everyone went out of their way to be responsive.

Our new favorite Boston hotel

My husband and I live just outside Boston and we try to do an overnight at least once a year to celebrate milestones (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). Our typical go-to is the Royal Sonesta (the site of our wedding) but since the renovations a year or two ago, its lost some of the nostalgia we used to feel going there. Instead, for my birthday this year we decided to stay at the Intercontinental, we love the area (although quiet at night) and we'd heard great things about the hotel. We reserved a standard King City View room and my husband made a note in the comments about celebrating a birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted by super friendly hotel staff who informed us that we had been upgraded to a harbor-view room. The room was gorgeous and the view was spectacular; our plan was to hang out, use the facilities and go to dinner in the lobby at Rumba or Miel. We ordered some cheese & crackers from Room Service which was really lovely and then shortly after had a knock on the door. The gentleman from room service greeted us with DELICIOUS chocolate raspberry moose cake (with happy birthday written in chocolate on the plate) and a bottle of chilled Prosecco (my favorite). We enjoyed the rest of our stay and had a great time checking out all the facilities at the hotel. Honestly, we couldn't have had a better time and we were made to feel SO special by the hotel staff - I can't wait to stay there again for our next occasion! Thank you!!!

Good Location

Overall very nice hotel but for the money I expected a more restful night sleep.  The mattress was quite uncomfortable.

Clean, elegant, and good location

Clean rooms, elegant hotel, convenient location, excellent restaurants and bar area. One the thrid and fourth day they were resurfacing the bar area floors so the large bar area was not available and the floor sanders were quite loud. I guess the floors will be nice the next time we visit. We arrived on an early morning flight and were going to just check our luggage, but they graciously let us check in way early. We would definitely stay here again.

THIS HOTEL WAS BEAUTIFUL, COMFORTABLE, AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: parking is at a premium
WE HAD A WONDERFUL STAY AT THE INTERCONTINENTAL AND WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK AND SEE MORE OF BOSTON.WHAT A GREAT CITY! EVERYTHING WAS JUST AS NICE AS IT COULD BE. MY ONLY ADVICE IS TO NOT RENT A CAR. PARKING AT THE HOTEL IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND YOU REALLY DO NOT NEED A CAR IN BOSTON. THE TOURS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ARE SO MUCH EASIER.

Absolutely loved the hotel

Cons: No free Internet
The hotel was very comfortable. I loved the outside bar overlooking the harbor. We could see fireworks in both directions. I would definitely come back.

With better cleanilness I would recommend the hotel.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, excellent location for elementry age children., onderful room well appointed with beatuiful veiw., room service was great., the best lobster roll in boston!
Cons: No free Internet, didin't call when room was ready.
I thought it was a lovely hotel, however not dusting where you don't think guest will see is not good. ie: the baseboards, behind the furniture and the mirror frames. When I called the concierge the second time I was made to feel I was a bother.

Loved the Hotel

Pros: Quiet, everything under one roof
I stay at this Hotel every year. Like the location and the amenities. The only down side was the night time bar stall...no personality . Other than that it was great.

Good location

Pros: Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
Great hotel in the financial district and walking distance to major Boston sites. Room was clean and quiet. Concierge was extremely helpful in all ways. Only downfall is there is no free wifi in the rooms. Has a daily rate. For a hotel of this size and quality WiFi should be a perk.
