Never Again

Pros: Not much
Cons: Everything. Give a guest a decent size bath towel. Give a guest glasses in the bathroom made of glass and not plastic. Make a guest feel welcome.
I stayed at The Boston Park Plaza over 25 years ago and did not have a pleasant experience then (stuck in the elevator for an hour!) but I thought I would try it again. What a mistake. Stood at the check in area for five minutes until I finally walked up to the gentleman who seemed to be doing nothing to ask if I could check in. He WAS doing nothing and did check me in with out a hello.The room was smaller then a Micro Hotel room. All I needed and yearned for was a hot shower and to watch some tv after a very long trans world flight. I got neither. The shower was MAYBE look warm and the tv's video was about 10 seconds ahead of the audio. The shower had a broken fixture and there were plastic cups at the sink. Haven't seen that in years and would not expect that in this highly rated hotel. All in all a waste of money. I will not wait another 25 years NOT to go again. I just will not ever book this hotel again. (And I am in Boston many many times a year).

Great place to sleep . ..

Pros: clean
Cons: larger rooms
Location: within walking distance of downtown
rooms are small because of location in Boston, but nice place to sleep at night if you are just there on business.

This place is amazing!

This is such a nice hotel. Room was clean and comfy. My only one complaint is that they make you pay a $17 a night fee for wifi weather you use it or not. You should get wifi for free. But other then that I loved this hotel.

Trendy Place in Boston

Location: Boston Common is just around the corner, shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Great location close to everything, friendly staff, trendy ambience.

Over priced for value

The hotel was over priced for the service and accommodations. The room was unacceptable both in size and condition. The room was so small we could not move around the bed. The noise was terrible! the hotel management was rude and would not accommodate any change.

Very small room and expensive parking

The hotel was beautiful, but it ended up costing us more than we expected. We found a parking garage about a block away that was slightly less expensive. We thought we were getting a great deal on a hotel near the T, but with the cost of parking, this was a more than we expected. We prepaid for our room through Travelocity but we unexpectedly had our adult son with us and the hotel wouldn't allow us to upgrade our room with just one queen sized bed to a room with 2 beds. We should have stayed somewhere further outside of Boston.

Breach of contract

Pros: Leaving it.
Cons: Hand over the title to me and I'll run it.
Location: Fabulous location.
I booked and prepaid for a superior room with a king bed. I got a tiny room with a queen bed. All superior rooms were gone at 6pm when they managed to check me in after waiting in line for 30 minutes. There were 8 stations at the front desk, but only two staff checking people in at the peak time.

Park Plaza is OK

Pros: Location is a convenient point to explore the city from.
Cons: The bathroom layout is badly done.
Location: There are many shops, restaurants cafes and major city sights within walking distance.
This hotel has all the hallmarks of high quality accommodation. The rooms are clean and well appointed. There is a large and visible support staff. Location is central and there are many restaurants and major city attractions in close proximity. The only issue I had with the room was the compactness of the bathroom, especially the shower stall. The room overall was somewhat small but workable since I didn't spend a lot of time in it. The bathroom was practically claustrophobic. If you're researching hotels in Boston, you'll quickly see that demand often exceeds supply. If this place fits your budget and you're looking for a place in Back Bay, this place should meet your needs.
