Great location within walking distance to town

Pros: Deck with rocking chairs. Cozy furnishings in room. Lots of clothes storage. Peaceful lobby with fireplace.
Cons: Quaint bathroom, footed tub, but could use more shelf space for toiletries as well as a place to put soap and shampoo in the tub.
Location: Great hiking trail within walking distance. Blowing Rock attraction very close by and Grandfather Mountain is about 30 minutes.
Cozy cabin like rooms. Old fashioned motor court appeal with a small pond complete with seating out front . Babbling brook runs behind the rooms. Very quiet Nice breakfast in lobby.

Wonderful Inn in Blowing Rock

Pros: Everything
Cons: I would say they should revamp their wifi setup. It can get slow because of some of their QoS settings. But you're on vacation, why would you need it?
Location: So much to do. Great food and shopping. Grandfather Mountain and Linville Falls are beautiful.
After staying in many different hotels and inns, The Village Inn tops them all. Perfect location, cozy room, friendly staff, and perfect bed. I honestly do not have a single negative to say about the stay. I even had to ask where they purchased their pillows. If you're staying in Blowing Rock or even Boone, consider this place!!!

A perfect place for a getaway

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
My husband and I wanted a quick getaway for our anniversary and were very happy that we chose the Village Inn. Our room had beautiful decor, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was wonderful. We did not know what to expect from just looking at pictures but I would definitely recommend this Inn to friends and family. Our room had a nice deck that overlooked a small courtyard and a lovely stream. A peaceful pond was in the front which even had ducks taking residence. We were close enough to restaurants and shopping to walk but far enough away to enjoy the quiet. We look forward to returning next year.

Outstanding establishment!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Outstanding establishment within walking distance of all the best things to do in Blowing Rock. Pull up and park in front of your room and forget about the car or motorcycle, which is how I arrived. Walk to great shops and restaurants. Beautiful and comfortable lodge to hang out and meet new people. Really enjoyed their wine and cheese happy hour. Definitely recommended. If you can, get a room with a hot tub and enjoy.

Better Places

Save your money, your back, and get some sleep. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. The bed was shot, the sound deadening between rooms didn't seem to exist. It was the worst night we spent on our 2 week adventure from Orlando to Roanoke and back to Orlando. The people at the desk and others associated with the Inn were very cordial and receptive to any question but the infrastructure behind them is sadly lacking..

Better Places to Stay

I had two rooms at this hotel. My room had a very nice view overlooking a stream with a deck. The room was nicely decorated and clean. The room didn?t quite live up to the pictures on the internet, but overall we were pleased with our room. We enjoyed the wine and cheese reception that afternoon and then had friends arrive to stay in the second room. Having read some reviews by dissatisfied guests, we immediately checked the cleanliness of the room. The sheets obviously had not been changed. They were stained and contained strands of hair. The bathroom sink and tub also had hair. We notified the man working the front desk about the condition of the room and he apologized, but didn?t really offer to do anything about it. After we requested the room be cleaned, he called a manger working at a sister property. We could overhear the conversation and he continued to tell her they needed to change the sheets, but it wasn?t bad enough he would have complained. After a wait, the manger did finally arrive and changed the sheets. There wasn?t really anything done about the bathroom, besides washing the hair down the drain. The manager was rude and never offered an apology about the room. The management and maid service at this hotel definitely need to do a better job! We got a rate of about $ a night and stayed two nights, but the going rate on their website was almost $ for that time. The rooms are not worth more than $ and stay at our own risk! Blowing Rock is a wonderful town, but there are better places to stay.

Not happy

My husband and I toured the Blue Ridge Parkway this fall with a planned stopped at Blowing Rock. We did not have reservations, but we had a discount coupon from Room Saver for The Village Inn. I googled The Village Inn website the night before. The Inn photos looked nice. We were pleased with the overall appearance of the room. We enjoyed the wine and cheese reception, had a glass of wine on our balcony, enjoyed the small lake and fountain in front of the Inn. We had dinner at a nearby restaurant one of the staff recommended then came back to our room and fired up our computer on the wireless internet. All was well until I turned down the bed and discovered the sheets had not been changed. The Inn does not provide staffing after 10PM but had emergency numbers to call. I called several times and the calls went straight to voice mail. After waiting for more than an hour for staff to call, we took off our pajamas, packed our bags and checked into a nearby hotel. It could be a lovely spot to stay a day or two but management has to make sure the room not only look clean, but are clean. I had to rate the bed comfort and value for the money before I could leave this review. I honestly don't know if the bed was comfortable because I did not sleep on it, and value for the money rating does not apply because they refunded our money. Maid service and management should know better. Hope this helps you make your decision about this place. Stay at your own risk.

Great cozy getaway

We absolutely loved the decor and the atmosphere of this very cozy inn. It definately had the feel of a log cabin. All of the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the wine and cheese reception each afternoon. We also enjoyed having use of the computer with internet access in the lobby. The continental breakfast was somewhat lacking but overall it was a perfect place to stay.
