Well located on our route. Great!

Excellent lodging for our needs. I think you should be satisfied with that.

Great place to stay for a visit to App State and some shopping in Blowing Rock! Very convenient to several restaurants too. Cozy room, comfy beds and a nice hot free breakfast. Would definitely come back!

Overall pretty nice hotel

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
I thought it was a very nice hotel. Really enjoyed the hot breakfast they offered and the beds were very comfortable. The only negtive thing was the fact that it said that it had a hot tub but did not have one. The other thing was that they did not have chairs on the balcony, but overall go experience.

Nice, but room smelled like smoke

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants
Cons: non-smoking room smelled like smoke
We had an okay stay here. The price was a bit much for the money, but all the other hotels in the area had similar prices at the time. Our room happened to smell like smoke some and the more time we spent there, the more I felt that, but since we had a small child with us and did not want to go through the trouble of switching rooms after unpacking etc. we just stayed there for that one night. Our friends' room did not have that smell. Otherwise everything else worked well for us and the pool was in good condition.

First, we'd like to thank you for choosing to stay with us at HIE Boone. We are so sorry the room smelled of smoke. As you know, we are a 100% smoke-free hotel. Although every guest signs a no-smoking policy upon check-in, some guests choose to ignore the policy and smoke anyway. Of course, when this happens, we do our best to scour the room and clean the carpets. We also use a special deodorizer to eliminate the smell. Unfortunately we missed the lingering scent and so we apologize for any inconvenience or uncomfortable night stay, this may have caused you and your family. We would very much have liked the opportunity to provide a solution to you when you were in house as it is extremely important to us that our guests are in a clean, safe comfortable and smoke-free environment. Should you decide to return to Boone, we hope you will consider staying with us again as we appreciate your communication and your business. Thank you again for taking the time to review our hotel, your feedback is invaluable to us.

Went for a long weekend, the hotel was clean & the staff was nice. This is our second trip to this hotel & never had any problems. Will go again.

very frustrating!!

Stayed 3 nights. Hot water did not work right. For about a minute it would blast scolding water and then it was ice cold for ever. Said they would get a technician up there and did not fix anything. Everyday we were there, we were snowboarding all day, so we wanted a WARM SHOWER. They told us we could move after the second night (HUGE INCONVENIENCE). We tried complaining but the district manager was very rude! Said we refused to move when we didnt and wouldnt cut us any slack! The extra money for another hotel is well worth it.

So sorry your team lost K.G!

Next time don't take it out on the hotel! It's a great hotel. We've stayed here and would again. Maybe if you expected less next time you get more. It's all in your attitude, "didn't ya know." It's not the Ritz-Carlton, afterall! (no offence H-EX)

Football Weekend H-EX Fizzle

One night hotel cost: $. Worth it? no. Football weekend and leaf seeking tourists probably jacked up the price of this hotel. But instead of staying at an unknown (Red Carpet Inn, Super 8) we elected to stay at a recognizable chain. Bed okay, pillows (there was a choice??) were hard foam. Ordinary bathroom with good space- but fiberglass tub, cheap soap and toiletries and plastic cups encased in a plastic sheath. All that was missing was the sani- strip over the toilet. If I had that, I would have thought I'd gone back 30 years. What I was extremely surprised at was the complimentary breakfast. Very meager offers in comparision to other chains. Are we big eaters? No. It wasn't like we wanted to stock up until dinner. Fruit from a can and sanisealed cinnabon buns. Yuck! Even my 80 year old dad, who is pretty flexible- noted the difference. Thank goodness he didn't know I paid 186 for the room! PS- Hey HEX- buy a new toaster- everyone was burning their fingers trying to dig out their english muffins and 3X3 premade french toast. Recommendation: If you have the choice APP fans... stay at the Comfort Inn.

Great moderate price hotel and location

We were in boone for two days to see the sights. Great location away from the college crowd and close to Tweetsie. Clean hotel. Good breakfast. The hotel was what I expected and I felt like I got my moneys worth. I liked the rustic, rock motif to the hotel. I felt like I was in the mountains.\nI will stay there again.

Very nice hotel, large rooms, very thick towels, two pillow choices (firm or soft), clean. And a good bargain. Breakfast adequate but no hot foods, e.g. no waffles or sausage. I'd definetly stay here again.
