Pictures make this place look better than it is.

Pros: Lake view.
Cons: More coffee..we stayed two nights but only had 1 reg and 1 decaf sachet of coffee, nothing was brought after 1st night nor was the room cleaned when w
From the look of the pictures, this looks like a really nice place to stay. Unfortunately, it is nothing more than an aging run-down motel that happens to be very close to the lake front. The rooms are dark and in need of upgrading, as are the dimly lit corridors...In fact if you are staying upstairs like we were, be very careful when descending the outside stairs because there is no lighting to help you. Balcony was full of cobwebs and bird droppings from the birds that had made their nests in the balcony ceiling.

Horrible hotel by the lake

Pros: nothing, the staff was fine but just a dump
Cons: they need to add air conditioning
Location: its right by big bear lake
No air condition and over priced for a low end hotel, It was so hot I couldnt even sleep and I would never go back I feel completely ripped off by this hotel not worth the price maybe $25 but not no $85

I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay. the temperatures in Big Bear Lake are usually milder than what we have been experiencing. The need for air conditioning has not always been a problem.

Easy getaway spot

The hotel made for an easy last minute getaway. The room was spacious and clean. Just old with age. We had a garden view room and relaxed on the balcony with a glass of wine. The only drawbacks are that the people next door were out on the balcony until 2 am so I kept waking up to their sound. They also allow smoking on the patio so smoke would walked into my room. I would stay there again, especially because they allowed dogs so I could be there with mine.

Pre Ski room

Pros: proximity to ski slopes
Cons: lots of superficial things in and around the rooms
old and worn with some new appliances, the beds are simple, mattress on wheels but sure comfy, dont expect much and you wont get much but its comfy and does the job for night of sleep

Do not book

The bedsheets were full of hair, when we asked for new bedsheets the girl told us that she didn't change the sheets because "she didn't know anyone was using the room"! The beds were terrible, the room was dirty and the plumbing was slow. No headboard on the beds and the mattresses were old and dirty

Just Okay

Pros: It was relatively inexpensive. Especially, since we went up to Big Bear on short notice.
Cons: This is an older property. Just about everything could be improved upon. New mattresses, linen, pillows, bathtub/shower, etc.
Location: It's a great location and close to The Village and restaurants, etc.
If you are picky, or you are expecting a 4-5 star hotel, do not stay here. We went up to Big Bear for the weekend and went to Oktoberfest. Our first choice, and just about everything else, was sold out unless you wanted to spend $300 per night. I found this hotel online and decided to take a chance. This is an older property and could use an upgrade. However, the room was large and had a fireplace. The mattresses were old, but they were comfortable enough since we were only staying 2 nights. But, just about everything needs to be replaced. My wife and I are not super picky, so this worked fine in a pinch.

In this wonderful town, you can do better

Pros: I liked that it was right on the lake, and off the main road.
Cons: Parking was tight, we had a truck and almost didn't fit. Stricter enforcement of noise levels. Add a fan, or install A/C
Location: Cowboy Express steakhouse right up the street is one of our favorites. The hotel is right off Big Bear Blvd which circles the lake - nice drive.
We were just there for one night, and booked this hotel because it advertised lake front views. In that regard, we were not disappointed. Our room was on the first floor, with a nice balcony equipped with comfy Adirondack-style chairs and a great view of the lake. We were about 8' off the ground so were above the cars parked right outside, and got some great photos. The room size was good, it was clean, and the bath and spa tub were very clean, everything there worked fine. The hotel is near the outskirts of town so there wasn't alot of traffic streaming by, and there's a great steak place just up the street that's one of our favorites. Down side - There are bbqs and picnic tables set up on the beach directly in front of our room that were accessible to anyone off the street to use, so be aware of that. Also, our room had no air conditioning and in August it gets HOT. And the ceiling fan was oddly placed, right inside the door - not in the center of the room, and it was inadequate. The night cooled down nicely though, so we decided to leave the window and sliding glass door open and enjoy the nice fresh air. This kept the room temp comfortable, but let in noise. Like the loud party going on in the room above us until 1 a.m. (even though we were told the hotel had a 9 pm "quiet time" rule), and the kids playing on the beach at 6:30 the next morning. Also, the king size bed had queen size flat sheets, top and bottom. Maybe they ran out? Probably will not be back.
