Nice hotel

Pros: Everything was nice.
Cons: A sidewalk down to the beach.
This hotel was very nice. We stayed for 4 nights and we were able to eat at a different restaurant every night and didn't leave the property. The food was delicious. The staff were very friendly. One day we got stuck in a rain storm on the beach and when the shuttle came to pick us up the driver brought towels for everyone. We had a great time and have no complaints about this hotel.

Beautiful Hotel

Pros: I loved how the complimentary hotel shuttle took us down to the bus stop where we took advantage of the public transportation.
Cons: add more times the complimentary ferry will take guests into Hamilton & bring guests back to Southampton. Your beach grill needs to stay open longer.
Location: Horseshoe Bay is out of this world! I loved how the public bus stops were at either end of the hotel & the hotel shuttle took you to both.
My teenaged daughter and I had a great time at this hotel. The amenities were fun (complimentary use of tennis rackets/balls, game room (billiard table, ping-pong table, Backgammon) pool, hot tub and meals were excellent. The waiters at the 2 restaurants we dined in on grounds (Jasmine, and Bacci) were the nicest and most efficient waitstaff ever! There are more than 2 restaurants on this property but they are more pricey and we were on a budget. Jasmine also makes The Best "Dark & Stormy" signature cocktail on the island! The hotels "Wicked Coffee Bar" offers fruit, yogurt, pre-made sandwiches, salads, canned beer and boxed wine that you can buy & take w/ u to Horseshoe Bay! There is a cafe on the hotel beach but it stops serving food at 4:30 PM. The hotel shuttle bus drivers who took you to the ferry, beach, (tennis courts) golf course & Bacci (golf course Italian restaurant) were so nice, helpful & more knowledgeable about Bermuda sights & the public bus routes than the Concierge Desk employees whom at times seemed bothered. Oh and EVERY Doorman rocked, too! Made my daughter & I smile every time we entered and exited the hotel. :)

Mixed feelings

My experience with the hotel, surrounding property and staff are all positive (there is a but). Hotel is located on a spacious well maintained property close to beautiful beaches. The staff is very professional and friendly. I did not appreciate being nicked and dimed. The room was dusty. Water bottles which are normally complementary in all of the hotels I have stayed in the past are $10. Automatic gratuity of 17% on all restaurants even if you get a take out.

Dear guest, Thank you for your comment. I am sorry you feel this way towards some aspects of your experience. I will follow up with our teams in regards to the dusting of the room. I agree it should have been much better. I just hope this will not refrain you from considering our resort for a future experience. Kindest regards.

Fantasy Island trip - Bermuda Fairmont South Hampt

Pros: Great location, service and always something going on
Cons: Was hoping for a larger pool
Location: Nice restaurants nearby - especially the Lighthouse. Easy to get to Dockyards and boat ferry to Hamilton was great!
We just returned from a wonderful trip to Bermuda with our family of 6. The weather was perfect and the people are even better. What an interesting island with the most hospitable and kind people. We had an excellent stay at the Fairmont South Hampton where everything is taken care of with a smile. The restaurants were fantastic and the service was helpful and pleasant (albeit a little slow at times to fit the casual island). The Fairmont location is perfect on the SW end and has a nice beachfront. It also is next to one of the nicest beaches I have ever been on - horseshoe beach. Great time and great service. Special thanks to John Herbert!

fabulous hotel, golfed for three days

Pros: The rooms, facilities and staff were outstanding Favorite was the golf.
Cons: The food was not impressive. Our last night we ate at Oceans, the Wahoo was a meager size, and the dessert was less than flavorful.
Location: Madhatter's Restaurant was the best place to eat.
Last minute trip to the Fairmont southhampton- for my husband's birthday. Golfed every day, beach and pool. We happened to be there during the trials for the America's cup race- fun downtown all weekend. The food at the hotel was ok, nothing to boast about but everything else was outstanding. We look forward to our next visit

Sometimes you get what you pay for!

Pricey hotel and dining but I can't say enough nice things about the staff. Every single staff member couldn't do enough for us. Pleasant, helpful, and accomodating staff turned a great experience into an exceptional one! Loved the private beach and shuttle service. We will be back!!'

This hotel is a complete experience.

Pros: see above
Cons: We had some difficulty accessing the TV but a technician sorted out our problem.
Location: Some way from other restaurants, so you eat all your meals at the hotel. But there are several choices. Dockyards interesting despite cruise ships.
The hotel's own private beach with glorious clear water tumbling onto the shore was perhaps the highlight of our stay. Free shuttles to take you to the beach or the ferry, beautiful grounds, restaurants ranging from regular to gourmet, common areas spacious and comfortable. This is a luxurious spot. We took a moderate room with 2 queen size beds which was spacious and had a lovely view. Staff very friendly and competent.

We will not return to this hotel!

Pros: Location on the island and the free ferry to and from Hamilton, although it ran at inconvenient times. There is a supermarket within walking distance.
Cons: The staff (with a few exceptions) was apathetic and entitled. We waited for seating, service, and checks with no acknowledgement that we existed.
Location: The hotel is halfway between St. George's and Dockyard. Eat at Art Mel's, Wahoo's, Island Cuisine, and The Gulfstream to truly support local business.
We booked a room with a king bed and were told there were no more "on our level" when we checked in. We asked for the room we booked twice and were told to check back later both times, so we spent our honeymoon in a room with two queen beds. The TV continued to reset saying "this channel is unavailable". The bathroom door didn't latch (romantic!). They were renovating the room next door. I asked the front desk for some toiletries that I forgot, but only one item was put in the room. We paid for the continental breakfast when we booked, but it didn't show up on our reservation. Fortunately, I took a screenshot before we left or we would have paid for breakfast twice. After eating in the same dining room for breakfast for four days, a waiter gave us a bill for the meal that was not free; he said that only the cold buffet was a part of the included meal plan and there was an up-charge for the hot buffet. When we got our bill at checkout, there was a service fee for our "free" breakfast each day. There was a steep service charge on every bill we received from the hotel (charges for local phone calls, delivering room service, wifi, use of the gym, golf balls when playing, and up-charges for bus passes). We were so frustrated with the extra charges and waiting for service that even when a lunch bill didn't add up properly, we chose to leave rather than wait to fix it. After 3 days on the resort, we chose to spend as little time as possible on the property.
