"My wife was excited when I showed her this property on VRBO. The views from the oversized window looking at miles of wilderness and vineyards looked amazing on line...and it was even better in person! The village is very small, but it has a real charm, and great location. In 15 minutes you can be at a small town with all the basics, at any one of a dozen quality wine vineyards, at a Michelin rated restaurant, or just out in the countryside visiting the outdoors or tiny villages and historical sites. Sebastiano was great, with all the things you needed to plan your time judiciously. And while the lodging looks historic on the outside, it is really awesome and modern on the inside. It is our favorite place we stayed at (for 8 days) on our 5 week visit. My only fear is that my good review will make it harder for me to be able to rent this place again! :-)"

"We had the most amazing time at Il Poggio! The property is well maintained, Roberta and Marina were incredible, and the location could not be beat. We took day trips (by car) to Siena, Arezzo, Florence, Orvieto, and Montalcino, all of which were easily and quickly accessible. Each of our five guests (two couples, one single!) had their own floor and bathroom. We cooked in the well-stocked kitchen, drank wine while watching the sunrise on the patio, and were transported to the past walking through the vineyards to San Gusmè. I cannot recommend this property enough, and I hope to be back one day!"

"We were blown away by how beautiful this location was! It is situated in a small hamlet of homes in the incredible Tuscany countryside surrounded by grape vines and peacefulness. Its location is so close to Siena and other small towns which made it so central. Upon entering the house, we were one again blown away with the chefs kitchen and open downstairs floor plan. The upstairs bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms large. The best part was waking every morning and opening the shutters to see that fabulous view. We had an incredible stay and I can not recommend this place enough!"

"This is a beautiful and comfortable Villa that I would enthusiastically recommend if you're looking for an authentic yet luxurious Tuscan experience. The description and photos on the VRBO website are all accurate, although I would mention that the photos don't do justice to the beauty of the Villa and its grounds. The Villa building is old but extremely well restored and maintained. The fixtures and fittings are all high-end. Everything was in perfect working order while we were there. The grounds and landscaping are stunning. If you stay here, be sure not to over-schedule your activities so you can spend a delightfully peaceful afternoon or two doing nothing more taxing than listening to the breeze and birds and noticing the patterns of sunlight and shadow as the day progresses. It is truly magical. When we arrived, the Villa was immaculately clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The furniture and beds are quite comfortable. The Villa is quite remote. The nearest town, about 20 minutes away, has some stores and restaurants. The town is near highways so you can reach places like Siena and Montepulciano without much trouble. The Villa is located near the top of a valley, so from the upstairs windows you can see some stunning Tuscan sunrises and sunsets. We had a wonderful time here. Highly recommended."
