"Great Beach, Good Food & Cold Beer"
It was our 11th trip to this hotel, so you see we like it. Gorgeous beach, golf is fun and food is very good with lots of variety. A very international crowd, not lots of Americans. Staff is outstanding and work very hard to make your vacation comfortable and memorable.

"Fantastic stay in paradise"
This was our second trip to Hard Rock Punta Cana and we had a terrific time just as we did a year ago. The resort grounds, facility, restaurants, and staff are all superb. In particular the food / restaurants, drinks, pools and beach areas are superb. We enjoyed a Couple's massage, and our child highly liked the kid's club. Love the attitude / friendliness of the staff - they virtually all are smiling, friendly, and happy appearing. We will be back again, probably next winter.

Majestic Colonial was overbooked - switched us to Majestic Mirage which was newer. First room had construction view - very noisy and workmen. I was upset so our butler Jorge Luis got us a 2 room suite with swim up pool, 2 bathrooms, Jacuzzi on balcony, bali bed. He also set up our dinner & spa reservations, one night he set up bubble bath with balloons and rose petals. He gave us shirts and hats. Our ac had a problem and he contacted maintenance which came right away and fixed. Jorge was always available to help and answer questions. The hostess Mariel remembered us from the first day, always greeting us by name and with a smile. The night maid Carmen was great and friendly. She made designs with towels and bedding. Went to the lobby to get change for tips. They sent us to one place which sent us to another and they told us to come back later. When I returned they said they had no change. When I got upset they gave me change. On check out, front bell hop sent us to the counter, which sent us to an office - why don't the bell hops at front desk know where to check out?? The front bell hop also tried sending us somewhere else to find out about our shuttle. When I insisted he look on his list he did and there was our name and info..... My husband is handicapped and being sent all over for simple requests seemed ridiculous. All in all it was a great week and we didn't let a few incidents ruin our wonderful time!

"Great vacation!"
I had a great time at Melia Caribe Tropical. The room was nice and clean, every room has a patio or balcony. There were snacks in the room such Doritos, Nestle crunch bars, sodas and beer. Just a reminder to bring repellent for the mosquitos, I forgot mines and got bitten a couple of times. The toilet isn't that great compare to USA so you will be flushing a couple of times. The staff was very friendly and treated me and my friend like royalty. Good drinks at the bars, the bartenders Leonardo, Cesar, and Pablo made sure that my friend and I never had a empty glass. The food was good and very good variety of food. I'm such a picky eater but had no complaints about the food. Food was available for 24 hours, I was surprised. The resort is big so there's a train or golf carts that take you every where, the wait wasn't long for transportation. I wasn't far from the beach so I walk to the beach. The beach was amazing, the only complaint I had was the European women had their top offs and there were children at the beach. I can't wait to go back.

"Punta Cana"
Resort is in a great location with white powder beach. All staff members were very helpful and courteous. Our concierge person Milly was great, courteous, hard working and super helpful. She took care of our restaurant reservations even when they were full. Concierge service is only available with the Family Plan. Buffet food is average same type of food every day. it's worth the money spent.

"Dominican Republic Winter Get Away"
Our sons (13,11 yo) were having winter break and the family headed to DR to escape the winter in the SF Bay Area. This hotel had a "reasonable cost" and good reviews that sold it to my husband. We were very pleased with our 7 nights there. The resort is huge, but the buses make getting around easy. Once you are oriented on what bus line to take and in which direction to go (the lobby or the beach) traversing the complex is quick. The grounds were very clean--the staff is visible daily gardening, drying the wet walk ways once it stops raining or buffing the dirty area, cleaning the pool areas nightly. The beach is also sweped all day making the sand of this resort very clean and free of painful stabbings of twigs or rocks. The cleansiness of the restaurants is also worthy of mentioning-- white table covers are replaced after every use. The restrooms were clean and there was an airfreshner taming odors. The a-la-cart restaurants were amazing. We were disappointed in the limited # or times we were allowed to visit them (3 maximum for us eventough we were there 7 nights). The Caribbean BBQ was my favorite with the lobster tails available at no extra cost. My sons loved the meat at the Grill. We enjoyed the Japanese Mieko was nice but the portions were small (maybe we're too used to the American "Super Sizes"). The buffet near the lobby was wonderful too; the menu rotates every day and our favorite was Friday's Dominican Theme with complementary cocunust out of th

"Graeat atmosphere "
Hotel staff are very energetic at the daily shows. They like to incorporate guest in the shows. Bartenders are great they always treat you with a smile. Only bad thing is they we were sucked into a seminar for hotel clubs which was our only disappointment of our trip. The room was in a great location in the property next to the pool and very close to the beach although very far from the restaurants nd lobby but worth it. The restaurants were amazing 3 course dinners everytime and excellent meals..including the buffet

"Stay was excellent "
The service is great the only problem I have is the rooms smell like mole I was not able to open the room door with the key I had a wrap on the people next door to open the door or wait on my husband he will open the door but unable to take the key out , so it take two people to open the door . The condensation is very bad the door and the floor is always wet . The bathtub is very slippery and has mildew all around . The safe deposit box was very rusty .every time you step out of the roo there was a pool of water by the door . Wifi did not work . Staff and everything was great . except the rooms . The only gave one key so you cannot go out on your own . There was eight of us in the group and we were unable to sleep due to the smell mole inthe room. I will not be staying here again I originally booked the majestic and cancel for the Riu palace .

"Wonderful stay,gorgeous beach"
I was worried when I read the numerous negative reviews of this resort. I cannot express how wrong they were ! This resort is beautiful and impeccably maintained. Yes there may be a language barrier some times, but management is all fluent in English and always willing to help. Yes wifi can be sketchy, but that should not be part of a rating. This is paradise, you should be using your phone to capture the beauty of your surroundings, not reading tweets! The food was excellent and plentiful. I am sure negative reviewers are not being fair. Yes some food may be bland , but like a cruise ship, they must cater to all tastes. Go to an ala carte (and extremely expensive) resort if you are a food snob. The sushi was awesome as well as local specialties. Our room was always clean and a pleasant tempreture. The pool and beach never overcrowded and we went during the busiest time! Music and entertainment was great and family friendly. The water park was in a different section so relaxation on the beach was a reality! Wonderful place! We will be back!
