Nice property for a relaxing getaway

Pros: The staff was amazing - so friendly and willing to help!
Cons: The villas could use a bit of updating, but having the private location and a full kitchen is a big plus
Location: This may be the one drawback - being on the western side of Asheville makes it a little less convenient to the city itself.
I was upgraded to a "villa" located on the golf course - this provided for a more private experience, although certain amenities, like room service, are not available from these more remote rooms.

Good location, training needed

Pros: Lobby & Bar area
Cons: 100% Room remodel required. The rooms are from 1970-1980 Like a time capsule Staff should be trained NOT TO USE Names and Room Numbers out loud
Location: There is a lot to do downtown at night. Avoid the shuttle, there is parking and you will be in control of your time down town. They sell the shuttle
Good location, property appears to be in the process of updating / remodeling. Lobby is modern with rustic cabin feel which is good for the location. Rooms and buildings the rooms are in is a whole different story. This property appears to be trying hard however only the lobby and bar area is updated. The rest of the property appears to be in a 1/2 way remodel. Although bath room was updated it was clearly updated on a budget. Room has newer than original carpet however borders of carpet are the original. This was a low cost update. The TV Furniture is newer but appears to not be complete. The buildings with the rooms which are wings of the lobby are in rough shape. Sticky doors, very old condition. Elevator ( well lets just forget about that ) take the stairs. Here is the deal, if you can get it for under $100 it would be only be OK, but for full rate while current guests appear to be paying for the remodel is just unfair. We spent $300 for our Saturday night stay on 7/30/16 taxes and breakfast included. 100% not worth the money but we can see they are trying. Our suggestion would be to CLOSE one WING of the rooms GUT the rooms and hallway, remove all DOORS and rebuild. You have a good location, beautiful property, wonderful remodel in the lobby and bar area but where we sleep seriously needs improvement. Seriously, take the time and do it right. You will be ahead in the end with a current, modern nice place to stay. In order to keep getting those rates.

Failed Romantic weekend at Crown Plaza

Pros: shuttle service to downtown
Cons: working bathrooms, responsive staff
Location: Downtown asheville is 5 min away
I booked 2 different stays/nights at this hotel for a 3 day weekend in Asheville. Got in late Thursday night and the room was fine. No complaints. My girlfriend and I had to change rooms on Friday since I booked 2 different stays. The 2nd room didn't have a working bathroom sink. So we had no water the entire day on Friday and Saturday before we left. We had to use the shower water or bottled water to wash hands or brush our teeth. We notified the hotel twice and they never came on Friday. They did show up promptly at 8 am on Saturday while we were sleeping. We notified them that we planned to wake up at 10 am to check out so the service was no longer needed (for our stay). I've booked through Travelocity many times for hotels and flights and this is the worst experience I've ever had. I've stayed at Crown Plaza hotels before too and this was a terrible experience. We also tried to spend an hour at their outdoor pool since we were hot from being outdoors all day and the staff kept telling us different stories about the pool status (closed vs open). It was just a really awful stay for both of us. I would like to request a full refund on my stay. This is not something I would normally do but the experience doesn't justify the rate I paid. I'd expect something like this from a $40/night hotel - not something I paid $265 for. Thats unacceptable. Regards, Tim

I am very sorry to hear of your poor experience with us while on your weekend getaway. Please understand that this is not our norm and that we invite you to visit our hotel again in hopes for us to reverse this unfortunate stay. I do know that weekend the Asheville City did cut the water off for 3-4 hours and we do apologize that this created an inconvenience for you during your stay. Thank you very much for your feedback and we do hope you choose to return.

Not the best Crowne Plaza!

We stayed on the main floor. Executive room was average for an upgraded room. walls and ceiling were paper thin so you could hear much more that you wanted to. Service was good. Golf Course was similar to a municipal course. very narrow, lots of water cow pasture fairway condition.

This hotel was bigger than I expected.

The room was big and clean. You have to drive about 10 mins into downtown Asheville. Hallways were noisy.

This hotel makes me feel relaxed.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Loved the tennis and pool on a hot day. Bed is super comfortable. Service in the morning breakfast room was however a little noisy and abrupt, but the food was good.
