"Great!"
Great hotel, wonderful location. We spent 2 weeks in Japan, and the staff at this hotel was exponentially better at providing assistance to American tourists than any other hotel we visited. Highly recommended,

"Good budget hotel for the solo traveler"
I booked the Red Planet Hotels Asakusa for a weeklong trip and had an overall pleasant time. For a week-long stay, the room is a bit small, but if you're going to be out in the city most of the time, this should not be a big concern. Asakusa is a fairly quiet part of the city, but not too far out - the hotel has three subway/train stations nearby for easy access to the heart of Tokyo. This also makes it a convenient location for access from Narita Airport. In addition, the Sensoji temple is quite close by, with many restaurants and shops in between. A department store with a basement grocery is a short walk north of the hotel for any goods that can't be obtained at convenience stores. When you are in the room, it is convenient to make use of the hotel Wi-Fi connection. It's a bit shaky in the afternoons, but in the mornings and evenings, it is quite fast, making it easy to plan for the day's or next day's excursion. About the only downsides I can think of for the room were that the mattress was a bit too firm for my liking, and the supplied shampoo and conditioner did not play well with my hair. But if I were to make another visit to Tokyo on my own, I would certainly stay again. It was a great deal and a good home base after long days in the city.

"The hotel is nice and neat. The staff is friendly."
I was in Japan for 8 days visiting former schools I had attended and friends and teachers. The hotel is well organized, for the most part clean. Staff are friendly. I am semi-fluent in Japanese. Some of the staff are semi-fluent in English. Between this I was able to communicate easily with them. Even if you know little or know Japanese, I do not think you will have any problems. My room was small, but comfortable -even for just me. The room was well kept and clean. There was no dresser, but I just kept my clothes in my suit case. There was a area to hand my coat and a few shirts. The room had a good bed, small refrigerator, plugs to charge my phone. Overall I was pleased with the hotel. In the future I would choose the hotel again.
