Horrible Resort, Under Construction

Absolutely the worse Resort I've ever stayed at. The intent for any get away is to be able to just relax. Staying at this hotel was far from that. This hotel offered specific Ammendities that caught our interest according to web site, which is out of date. The pictures are dated and inaccurate. There is only one pool, the other pool is being built. There is no mini mart on the premises as advertised. When sitting outside by the pool/ bar area during the day - including the weekend, constant construction work is being done in the background . One can hear the buzzing of saws, banging, etc. It felt like I was at a construction site for my entire stay. In the hotels credit, they did offer to shuttle guest to use another resort's ammendities . However this was not found out until the last few days. As a guest, why would we want to get a shuttle or drive to another resort if we booked at this one under the false impression that everything that was offered was fully operational? The gym at the hotel was very dated and not clean. Sweat stains can be seen on the equipment .The sauna in both the men/women's locker room didn't work. It was reported to staff several times and was advised it was repaired which was not the case. The room was not sound proof. Conversations, the opening and shutting of doors, shower/ water running can be heard from rooms next store. Ceiling fan didn't work for several days Do yourself a favor, book with a chain hotel. Management has yet to return my calls

Thank you very much for your review. We apologize for the inconveniences experienced during our your recent visit. We most recently started our enhancement and renovation project which ultimately will lead to our conversion into a Courtyard by Marriott Resort in April 2018. During this process all our rooms will be refurbished, als well as our public areas and food & beverage outlets. Currently we are renovating one of our pools, in the meantime the other pool is open. We will certainly share this review with our associates and work hard on optimizing the services to our guests. We do look forward to being able to welcome you back to our Resort in a very near future.

Inexpensive hotel in aruba

Pros: The location and the activities near the hotel
Cons: The hotel rooms.
The hotel room needs to be updated. me and my boyfriend were in a royal room with a king bed and the mattress was very old and lumpy. Also when we first got there it was an old used cleaning rag on the side of the tub. We did not get fresh wash cloths everyday unless asked. The hotel was near all the high rise hotels and the downtown area. It is located in a great spot.

The hotel was peaceful and relaxing!!

This is my second time at this hotel, last visit was over 15 years ago and it did not disappoint. Do to upcoming renovations there were not to many travelers there so it was very quiet and peaceful. It was exactly what I needed!!! The staff was excellent and I could not have asked for a better vacation!!! Can not wait to see how it is after the renovation!!!

Horrific & filthy

Room was incorrect, no pullout which we needed as we had 4 people. Asked for another room told they didn't have one. Absolutely filthy. Dirt on sheets, mold all over shower, food on table, smelled horrible. Told us they'd bring two cots, brought one. Pictures attached.

Mill Resort in Aruba

Pros: Cozy setting.
Cons: Sray bleach the shower floors on occasion.
Pleasant setting close to everything in Palm Beach, Aruba. Walkable to beach, shops, etc. Quiet pools and 15 pet iguanas to add the exotic. Goo restaurant and bar.

Good location

Generally we were disappointed with the Mill Resort.  We had read that personnel were friendly and service very good, but we did not find that to be the case.  The individual who checked us in was rather curt and uninformative, and on other dealings with individuals at the front desk we found the same.  We had chosen a "suite" because the photos and description made it seem desirable, but our "suite" turned out to be just one fair size room that included a mid-size refrigerator, microwave, and two burner stove.  There was a meager supply of dishes, no real decor to the room in terms of pictures on the wall or rugs or mats on the floor.  I would term it quite "basic".  Housekeeping didn't seem to know the difference between bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths; even when we asked for certain items we rarely received them.  The bell boy, and concierge were friendly enough and somewhat helpful.  The pool area was nice enough, and though we had been told one pool would be closed for cleaning, both were open during our stay.  While the beginning of the week we were there was relatively quiet, toward mid-week a lot of people arrived, and soon the area--especially the pools--were overrun with kids.  There were few activities provided; even some that were advertised turned out not to occur, such as the Wednesday "Barbeque Buffet".  While we would have preferred to stay on the beach, the short walk to the beach did not bother us, and we never took the shuttle, as it seemed faster to just walk.  Palm Beach is a beautiful area and The Mill is close to bus stops, restaurants, and shops. Some of the buildings at the resort are no longer in use, such as the Old Mill, which apparently was a night spot, and some of the shops.  We actually chose the Mill Resort because it was reasonable, and we were trying to keep costs down, but if we returned to Aruba I would upgrade to another resort or hotel.  Aruba itself has many beautiful beaches and the water is just gorgeous.  We did rent a car and tour the island, but it would be easy to spend all of your time in the Palm Beach area.

we were welcomed warmly

Pros: Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
The hotel was pretty good but the room cleanliness could have been better. They made the beds, clean the bathroom and that was it. Never sweep the floors or dispose of any un-clean glasses or papers etc; i will recommend it as a fair hotel to stay. The WiFi was unfair to be paying for because i travel all over the world and WiFi is free. I will stay at another hotel should the opportunity presents itself again. The breakfast was too expensive and not inclusive.

Paper thin walls make sleep impossible.

Cons: Noisy
You get what you pay for. There's a reason this is one of the least expensive hotels on the island. Next year I will definitely pay more but stay elsewhere.

Friendliest Staff on the friendliest Island!!!!

Pros: Close restaurants, very friendly staff, value
Cons: No free Internet
I have been to Aruba several times and stayed at some of the larger chains (RIU/Holiday Inn) and decided to stay at this location the last 2 times I was there. First the price difference is dramatic and the atmosphere is very Carribean! Pool is very nice. Beach is right across the street, but they will shuttle you over for free. Love the bar and staff. Rooms were very nice and clean. I was a bit upset that the internet wasn't free, but for the value I didn't mind paying a little for the net. Also loved the inroom jacuzzi tub!
