We had a fantastic time. The hotel was excellent and so was the staff. We ate at all the restaurants with great experiences we were very pleased. One comment I would like to make is to have some type of policy for holding the chairs. We would go down around 10am and not many people were out but all the chairs had towels on them to be held. I would go grab 2 chairs from the pile and put them some where and use them but not in a very good spot. One day we were out at 10 and the chairs next to us were not used till after 2pm. I have no problem with holding chairs if you grab them and go off to eat or something for an hour or 2 but to hold them all day I think is a bit much. Other then that we had a fantastic time and would return to this resort.

Our resort room was not confirmed and there was a “glitch” with overbooking the resort. We were traveling with 8 other couples and were the only ones told we had been moved to another resort across town. At first the hotel staff stated there was nothing they could do for us. The manager wouldn’t even come out to tak to us for over an hour. Needless to say, this caused for an etremely stressful start to our vacation. I am pregnant and only wanted to enjoy some time away with friends and family and when we book we expect to get what we booked. Travelocity didn’t even call us to let us know what was going on and said well since they moved you to a comparable resort that should be fine and they closed the need to contact us. No it was not fine and not acceptable to not even try to speak with us about this. I will never book with Travelocity again and feel they did nothing to try and make this right for their customers. Literally ruined the vacation with their disregard to help us.

Nice Hotel -- right on the beach. Food is good for an all inclusive. Decent location for some shopping and other food choices.

Let me start out with saying most of the reviews are true as far as the rooms need updating. It appears they did a lot of spot updating. The tile in our shower was new but the tube coating was peeling. The tile in the bathroom floor had cracks and chips. The towels and robes were rough. The furniture was worn out in the room. The riu family side is brand new and we ate at their buffet and it was better. The swim up pool tile is in need of repair and both pools need tile replaced. We visited the Arubian restaurant and it wasn't that good. The buffet had alot of food but it was basically the same daily. I found the breakfast buffet to be bland. Mostly we got good service from the staff. Out of 5 days and 4 nights only 1 housekeeper was not so nice. She wouldn't say hello after we said hello and ehen asked for two towels she had a puss on her face. I love the fact that this hotel is right on the beach. You will have to get up early to get a hut. We only were able to get a lounge chair at the pool or the beach. The entertainment needs to be redone. The actors and actresses were awesome as far as the acrobatic. They just need to rename the shows i believe. We visited the disco on the last night along with the casino and they were both good. We visited the lobby bar and it was great.

Needs complete renovation!

Pros: the location was good, right on the beach and right across the street from shops and restaurants.
Cons: Everything inside the hotel
The rooms need updating - the bed was like sleeping on a box spring, the air did not work well, the curtains were impossible to open and close, the shower wall was falling down, the drawers smelled musty, the hallways were damp and smelly, the refrigerator was banged up and dirty, all furniture needed to be replaced. The bar service throughout the hotel was poor. Unfriendly and not accommodating. The food was ok, the buffet was the only restaurant we truly enjoyed.
