"Second Time at Royalton Resort"
This was my second time at the Royalton and just like my first visit, it was absolutely amazing. I do not have a single thing bad to say. The food is amazing, the people are wonderful, and the environment was absolutely beautiful. There was an event at all hours of the day and many options outside the resort were offered. I can't stress enough how much i've enjoyed this resort.

"Beautiful resort"
The rooms, pools, bars, and restaruants were all very nice. We were worried about the food, but all meals were excellent. I highly recommend the Japanese restaraunt, but for all of the specialty places, be sure to get you name on the list when they open around 5:00 ish. Contrary to some reviews, the beach is beautiful and not crowded at all. It is on the smaller side, but that did not take away from it at all. Occasional tips for meals and drinks (a couple of dollars) go a long way with the staff.

"Beautiful hotel and grounds "
It is a beautiful hotel with perfect grounds and size for a couples retreat. We went for our 33rd wedding anniversary and thought it was serene, quiet, and elegant. We prefer smaller resorts with excellent service. We found the service lacking in key areas but the facility pools, lobby, room, and proximity on the beach was incomparable to other all inclusive a we have visited!

"A Relaxing Getaway"
My partner and I had an AMAZING week vacation at this resort! The hotel is HUGE with beautifully landscaped grounds, clean and well-maintained. Our room was luxurious and comfortable and we liked the free mini-bar (though you need to ask for specific refills like the 1 bag of chips or liquor). It took us a few days to get our bearings & learn how to hop on the "bus" golf carts to the beach, Ambar lobbies, and Pueblo Príncipe town center. We got our room switched to a ground floor view of the quieter pool at Ambar 2. (Suggest including on actual site maps & signage the three main lobbies referred to as Ambar 1, 2, 3 and main "Bavaro" lobby of the adjacent family resort, Gran Bahia Príncipe.) The hotel staff were friendly and warm - though initially it felt like a "wait one minute" attitude anytime we asked for more towels or other, so seemed like a "brush off". It would help for staff to learn better English or not give a 3 second "blank stare" when asked a question. (I learned staff live on-site or close by and work 25 days straight then take 6 days off; along with sporadic tips, makes for tired staff giving less than warm welcome. Otherwise staff were very friendly.) The beach was white sand w/warm waters & we LOVED the little individual cabana umbrella huts. My only complaint was the LACK OF TOWELS. Every time we asked they said "wait 15-20 mins". Pls figure out a system like a towel card! Overall, it was a very nice, relaxing resort I would highly recommend to others!!!

"Senior Sisters and Spouses Get Away In Paradise!"
No need to rush to get your check in done like your 40yr. old kids do . My husband and I arrived from Texas first and booked our room then my sister & her husband arrived from Canada but by that time there were no more rooms available together. The hotel staff were super and went out of there way to accomadate us with rooms very close to each other. They spoke english and were so patient and throughly trained in their department. The buffet food was out of this world and the selection of specialty restaurants ( part of the all enclusive ) were super. The pools were beautiful , clean and well maintained and some steered towards families with children and some towards the adults with easy access for people with disabilities. I was worried about my slightly overwieght appearance but let me tell you there was every shape size and age and no one cared one bit about it. It is all about the experience of having a good time !! If I had to sum up my whole experience I would say it was a like a visit to Paradise!

"40th Birthday Celebration"
When we arrived, we were immediately handed a refreshing, cool towel, as well as a icy 'majestic" drink, then whisked to the "elegance club" check in. Our butler Elise was wonderful! I was greeted on my birthday with a happy birthday banner across the door, a champagne bubble bath in our room, and a sparkling cake after dinner. We enjoyed most all of the restaurants, as well as the entertainment. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and can not wait to return!

"Very nice staff"
The location and staff service was great. The air conditioner was not good. I had a very bad experience with the ground transportation with Coming To. I paid online through travelocity. When I arrived they picked me up but to return back from the hotel to airport they never picked me up. I called and I e-mailed the company several times and they never answer. Don't book with this company. At the end, I paid $9.00 dollars online plus $40 dollars taxi fee. I almost lost my flight.

"Loved It"
We arrived at the airport at 9:30PM, December 30 2012. To transfer to the hotel we used Dominican Airport Transfer They charged us $45.00 for the van. We had group of 5 people and. Took us straight to the hotel in no time. We had our personal guide Susan meeting us along with the driver, we didn't expect anything like that, so it was a pleasant surprise. She accompanied us to the resort and also helped us to book couple tours and came to say "good buy" when we were leaving, as we used the same transportation method to get back to the airport. Very reliable and on time. Check in was fast and without any problems. We lived in the rooms 3301 and 3305, it is quite place as it is further away from all the commotion. Rooms were nice and clean. There is a bar in the rooms and soft drinks in the ridge, that got restocked every other day. There is safe, that worked just perfect and nothing got stolen from us. My teenage kids had IPODs, laptops, IPADS, you name it, everything came home safely. Lock you money, passports, electronics in the safe, it is big enough to fit it all. We were leaving small tips for the people we got to know- bartenders and maids and it would pay off, although you do not have to do it About food. We've been to a few resorts in Dominican Republic and Jamaica in the past and I can tell that food was very good. There are 4 restaurants on site, which you need to book. Hibachi and Mexican and Italian, but they are buffet style, but Steak House is full service restaurant and food was amazing. Also you have your regular buffet, that opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner, You would never go hungry It was pretty windy and the ocean was busy and noisy. We spent a lot of time on the ocean, "riding waives", some people brought small surf boards for kids and it was a lot of fun, like sledding in the winter Pool was very clean and swim up bar was busy starting at 11 AM, Entertainment Team was the best. We've been to a lot of resorts, and I can tell you, that those guys do everything possible to keep you entertained and busy since morning till night, they are the best- A+. From crazy games at the pool to archery, aerobics in the water and on the beach, latin dance lessons and nightly shows and dance afterwards, it is amazing, how those guys keep going. If you are looking for the fun- this is the right resort to book. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them, We had a lot of fun, it was hard to leave and looking forward to come back sometimes again

"Five Stars for Riu Palace Macao"
I have stayed at this resort several times over the past 7 years, and it continues to exceed all my expectations. The staff is impeccable, the rooms are clean and spacious with effective air conditioning (useful for drying clothes after a day in the water). Leave a $1 or 2 each morning on your bed with a 'thank you' to Housekeeping, and they will really dress up your room well, and enhance your stay. Food is excellent and consistent, and I believe Riu Palace Macao accesses the best stretch of Bavaro beach. Give it a try - you won't regret it.
