The property has a wonderful old world feeling with modern conveniences. The view from our room/balcony was spectacular. The staff was friendly and the location was great. I would highly recommend Hotel Residence.

It was so beautiful, right on the beach with welcoming staff and fabulous breakfast! Best cappuccino we’ve had so far in Italy! Close to everything but quiet- very little street noise due to double paned windows.

Pros: Location and sea view.
Cons: Need comfortable chair or sofa in each guest room.
Location: Very easy walking in the middle of everything.
Each room should have a comfortable chair or sofa many guest rooms had no place to sit except a desk chair and bed.

Outstanding location

Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
The hotel is steps away from the beach and bus pickup point for the open air bus to Ravella and other towns. The ferry is a five-minute walk from the hotel. The square and church are also less than five minutes away. One would assume that noise from the square might be a problem, but the French doors are double pane windows and wooden shutters are inside them so sleep was not a problem even on Saturday and Sunday nights. There is a terrace which looks to the sea and is used for breakfast and evening bar. The hotel is small so the terrace is never crowded. The staff were helpful. If you are staying on either Wednesday or Saturday evenings, be sure to book for the Amalfi Musical. This is an opera inside what appears to be a cave but was really a ship building site. It is like a theatre in the round (except it is rectangular), the sword fighting was no more than 3 feet away, there are English subtitles, and the voices were excellent. There are antique elements for the furniture in the halls but the bathrooms and floors have been redone.
