We booked our room for four guests. There were two towels in the room. When we requested more towels, we were told that they did not have access to them until housekeeping arrived at 9AM. When 9 came, we went for more towels and housekeeping had still not arrived. The room was infested with stink bugs. When we called the front desk, we were told that it was breeding season and that they would likely be in the other rooms. There was no cancellation available for our room.

Old and run down property. The staff are friendly. The amenities are lacking. For over $140/ night (during the Master's Golf week) I expected more. No mini-fridge. The microwave was placed on the floor! Not even placed on a table. The towels are thin and scratchy. The continental breakfast is lacking. Mini-Bagels, waffles / juice. I should think that eggs or biscuits and gravy should be available for that price. I was in Aiken on business, so my company paid for it. I would not go back there.

Excellence at Hyatt Place in Birmingham

Pros: all
Cons: none - all is being done.
Location: We were on a golf trip so only wanted the hotel to be restful. It was that plus being attractive lobby and rooms. They serve a real breakfast .
From check-in to lobby appearance to rooms to breakfast to check-out, it was all an excellent experience.

Very much in need of repair

Very dated. No security lock, peeling wallpaper, no sprinkler system, very old tv-horrible reception, chintzy with the thin towels--there for 5 nights and never the same number, --was quiet except for barking dogs breakfast ok and owners and staff very accommodating

"Master" disappointment!

Pros: Great location to stay when attending The Masters. Aiken, SC is a very unique little town with good access to dining.
Cons: Better TV's and pay for "local" broadcast of The Masters. Bathrooms could use updating.
Location: Ideal location to stay if you are attending The Masters.
Hotel was OK. The problem was that they did not have access to the Masters on TV over the weekend. That's right! No CBS coverage of the Masters was available on Saturday. Instead you got two channels of Univision. How can you have the local CBS affiliate all week and not on Masters weekend?

not really a 2 star hotel

Pros: cheap
Cons: Noisy, Poor breakfast, no attention to detail
No tissues, no shampoo, extremely dim room, breakfast consisted of cereal, waffles, mini doughnuts, white toast. not a piece of fruit or protein in sight, orange juice machine was broken. phone kept ringing with nobody on it. noisy people up at 6

OLD BUT SERVICEABLE

For the price, this hotel was a great deal. We paid $ including tax for four nights. The bathtub was small and stained but everything appeared clean. That super low price even included free cereal, coffee and donuts in the morning. Incredible. We only needed a place to sleep and take a shower; this answered our needs.

GOING BACK AGAIN

We have stayed a number of times in various lodgings in AIken and for the money - this one is great. THe location is super - close to everything. Staff very nice and breakfast was plentiful. IT was quiet - C&M 9-09
