"Clean, comfortable and nice location"
Had a great three night stay for a family vacation. Hotel close to everything we wanted to do; beach, Sea World, Seaport Village. Loved the suite rooms so kids had their own separate room.

"Classic downtown hotel! "
The Westgate is a classy, historic hotel that's in a great location in downtown. Across from Horton Plaza, it's very convenient to walk around downtown. The rooms are large, beds are comfortable and service is outstanding. I've stayed in downtown numerous times at many different hotels, at the Westgate is among the best! We had the best maid ever! When we got back to our room, she had emptied all of our travel bags (toiletries) and have them beautifully arranged on the bathroom counter and the room was immaculate! 2 rooms share a common hallway (behind a locked door) which was great because we stayed with another couple and we could have both our main room doors open if we wanted to and have a common area. Can't wait to go back and stay at The Westgate again.

"Location to Gas Lamp and Seaport Village is great"
I had stayed in La Jolla and wasn't ready to leave by my departure date, so I quickly went on line and found this great hotel in the heart of the Gas Lamp district. I'd recommend it more to the 21-50 age group who are there to have a great time without kids. It's a hotel that caters to having a great time.

"Great get away"
My experience at the hotel could have been better. Upon checking in, the hotel was not able to find my reservation. Luckily I had all my invoices that I had printed out. After everything was figured out by the staff the only room available was on the same floor were the pool and the night club was located, luckily we were able to still sleep comfortably with out the noise coming threw the walls. The first night we parked valet (we were too tired to try to look for cheaper parking) but the hotel was trying to charge me for two nights. After showing my invoices from another over night parking that we had used, the hotel credited my card. I did enjoy that the hotel was about two blocks walking distance from all the excitement from the local bars and night clubs.

"Nice hotel, but they ding you for $"
This is a really nice place, right outside the stadium, close to the beach and attractions, and a block from the Gas Lamp District. The staff is great and the rooms are nice. But beware. They charge $40 a day for parking, which is valet only. So you either have to pay that or park in public parking down the street. While it can be cheaper to park in public parking, you have to pay a $15 dollar fee every time you come back in. In other words, you pay $15 a day if your car doesn't leave the lot. But if you do leave the lot and come back it's another $15. Then of course you have to walk back and forth to the hotel. Second, they charge $9.95 per day for wi-fi. I complained and they dropped the charge, but still, had I been in a better mood at the moment, I wouldn't have complained. So between parking and wi-fi, my room almost cost $50 a day more than I'd planned for. Oh, if you sign up to be a member of the Omni Club (or whatever it's called), the wi-fi is free, but at this point in my life I just don't need another solicitation email to delete every day. Third, there's no coffee pot in the room. By now, even the lower rate motels have this. This one should too. $15 for continental breakfast. Ouch. All that said, I would stay there again. I would just have to plan to spend an extra $50+ per night. It is a nice place in a great location with helpful and friendly staff.

"Nice hotel next to bay and PETCO Park."
Hotel is extremely nice. Friendly staff. Literally across the street from PETCO park and a very short walk to the Gaslamp Quarter. Would rate the hotel higher but had to pay to get wifi and parking also costs $32 a day. Paying that much for a hotel room I expect complimentary wifi and parking.

"Hotel Del Coronado One night stay"
Love this hotel. SUPER expensive. The staff is super frinedly and nice. The prices for everything is from bottled water ($4.95) to Chips and guacamole ($18.00) is unbelievably high. I took my own beer wine champs and alcohol and saved hundreds! You can drink on the beach FYI!! Tell them it is your anniversary and they will give you a card that allows you to get free: 2 beach chairs and umbrella ($65.) 2 free drinks ($35.00) 1 chocolate bar ($10.00) Free upgrade at the spa from 30 minutes to 50 minutes
