"Mini holiday"
Hermosa in is a very quiet romantic inn. The adjoining restaurant is fabulous. They were in the process of working on an addition for the property. We enjoyed our little get away and look forward to visiting when the renovations are complete.

"Nice hotel, almost hits the mark."
What stands out the most about the Palomar was the service. I've stayed in literally hundreds of hotels around the world, some big chains and others boutique hotels, design hotels, or Hip Hotels, and it was the Service that stood out the most By Far! There's nothing better than calling a hotel's front desk and being greeted by your name and going above and beyond expectations for someone to help you. No major call center and being redirected to another person, etc. Valet gave the similar one on one experience as did every Bar, Restaurant, and on-site amenity (gym, pool, pool bar, concierge). Where the hotel fell short was a certain level of fun or funk in the rooms. I feel the days of the $8 bottle water are over. Give one free, or some free treats, like a cookie from a local Bakery & promote them. Everybody loves an unexpected gift. Work it into the price if u need too. It's like flying Business Class and having to pay for nut & a soda, it's awkward. The rooms are comfy, Frette linens nice, and overall floor plan nice. The Bathrooms were big and the walk-in shower very nice. Closet space was fine, but two small drawers is very small storage for most people. The phone system was super easy to navigate, and hooray for lights with dimming switches that don't take 5' to figure out how to use. Really bad grades go to in-room dining. We did late-night menu, breakfast, and dinner. What a let-down (except for the French toast & berries). Avoid Room Service.

"Relax, Release, and Enjoy"
This was one of the best resorts that I have stayed at in a long time. After the passing of my mother, my husband and I needed a place to just RELAX, rejuvenate, reflect, and rest our thoughts. The beauty of the hotel immediately took us to another place, away from the stresses of the previous month. I love the sound of water...it soothes my soul. The hotel is surrounded by water...fountains, the pond, the connected pools with fountains of water running from overhead into the pools. I cannot describe the beauty and peacefulness of this resort...it was much more beautiful than the pictures show. There is an area for families and children, but also a separate pool for adults-only. Both were frequented daily and especially at night when the lights add a romantic flavor. I even got my hubby to go down the water slide...that was an experience! Our king-sized room with balcony overlooked the pond area where I often saw hummingbirds, a rabbit, and butterflies grace our presence. The room was large and bathroom a shower made for two was just as nice. The resort also boasts restaurants, spa, tennis courts, work-out facility, a Starbucks, and Gondola ride with professional singers. Everything was perfect for our week's stay.

"In a remote location"
The location had advantages and disadvantages. When we went to an event or attraction it was quite a drive. However, it was quiet and beautiful. The sunsets from our room were outstanding to watch. The water slide was a bonus. And believe it or not, it was middle aged ladies that took advantage of it! The staff was OUTSTANDING.
