"What a great place to stay in Lisbon!"
How lucky I was to find this hotel! The location can't be beat. It is in the Belem area of Lisbon, surrounded by parks, and literally across the street from the St. Jeronimos monastery & cathedral. Short (15 minute) walk to Belem Tower or the botanical gardens, less distance than that to 3 art museums, Lisbon cultural center, archeological museum, maritime museum, national coach museum, presidential palace, etc. The streetcar also stops a block away for very easy access (20 minute ride) to the main rail station and all city centre sights. Several good restaurants in easy walking distance, including the famous Pastisserie de Belem, serving the best cream pastry that ever crossed your lips, if you're willing to wait in line for it.
The hotel was squeaky clean, quiet, and had good size, nicely decorated rooms & very helpful & professional staff. Breakfast was included, and was the best spread that I encountered in two weeks of city hopping around Spain/Portugal (and included a supply of the delicious cream pastries mentioned above). The hotel also has a full bar, although there are many other eating/drinking options in the area. Parking was on the street and was free. I had no trouble easily finding a place close by - especially before or after peak tourist hours. The hotel's surrounding neighborhood seems more residential, less hectic, and feels generally safe for nighttime walks, etc.
I fully recommend this hotel, and would stay here again without question. In my opinion, it is a much better option than staying downtown and traveling out to Belem to see the sights.
