Running late, called ahead to notify front desk of arrival around 8:30 pm. When arrived, had to wait for someone to escort us to room, which turned out to be a studio, garden view, when I booked deluxe, ocean view. Told due to renovations this was all that was available. Booked for 5 adults and property manager who was communicating with "reservations" told us to try to fit in studio with 1 King bed, and 2 twin beds in loft. Refused, and about another 30 minutes was given an additional room in D block, with rest of our party in studio in A block. Both rooms had several live cockroaches running all over. The room in D block had fan blowing only from a/c unit, no cold air the entire stay. Too exhausted to wait another hour for hotel to sort out. Next day when tried to access beach, found entrance from hotel closed due to renovations. Had to walk out onto main road, through shopping area to get to beach and back. Upon checkout, exactly 10:57 am housekeeper arrived, and loomed in doorway until we removed our belongings. Asked at front desk for manager, clerk called someone who wouldn't speak with me, but gave name and phone number to call. I called several times no answer. Very disappointing. Very unprofessional. Shameful. Low point of vacation. As a frequent visitor to the north coast who encourages my U.S. friends to visit Jamaica, I will definitely steer them away from this hotel.
4day 5night-2day full rain nuf said. Hotel nothing special when its rainy. Booked well in advance to hopefully get a decent room in our category and ended up 2 rooms shy of last room on property. I was told to call ahead next time to avoid this-not much help now. Staff was good, always painting, food was good. Second trip here 1st was Huricane Sandy :( we always find better weather at Negril in 6 trips. Hotel here not bad but with the distant room and weather a bummer. At least it wasnt a Rui

This was our first trip to Jamaica were we celebrated our Honeymoon. We landed in Montego Bay and proceeded to the Couples Resort processing area. You check in with them and then you can relax and have a beer, change into your island gear if you want to and wait for there shuttle buses to take you to your destination. We are really pleased with Couple Resorts and would highly recommend them.

I just returned from 5 nights at the Jewel Dunn's River Resort. Depending on your age and what you are looking for, this is a great place to stay. First and foremost, if you are looking for a high energy younger crowd, this is NOT your resort. The average age while we were there was close to 50. There were guests in the 20-30 year old range, and some 60-70 year old guest, with the majority being 40-60. More than anything else, this is a place to relax, swim, enjoy the people, and did I say relax. The staff are incredible, the food is good, not great, but good. The facilities are first rate; very clean and well kept. The beach, while small is very nice, there are lots of chairs available although people were reserving them as early as 7am. My one wish is that they would serve something other than Red Stripe beer. For someone used to drinking American IPA's, Red Stripe was like drinking flavored water, and you can only drink the sweet drinks for so long before you need a good beer. The event staff were very good. We loved talking with Ashay and Apple. What a couple of jewels. There were two special nighttime meals during our week. The beach dinner was outstanding, and the manager's cocktail party and dinner was very good. We did not get to try the Italian restaurant, but the others we ate at were average to above average resort food. Would I go back? Absolutely. I enjoyed my first visit to Jamaica significantly more than any of my Mexico trips.
