"Amazing location!"
The hotel is small but very centrally located. Our room was on the 9th floor and I heard no noise from inside the hotel or outside the entire time we were there. The room was a good size for NYC with a queen size bed, 2 bedside tables, a dresser and a small, round table and parson's chairs. The bathroom was a nice size but the door didn't open the whole way. It met with an interior wall in the bathroom. A person of larger size may have difficulty. Also, the threshold at the bathroom door was quite high and caused a couple of stumbles both in and out of the door. The towels were large and fluffy and the bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. The entire room had been updated and was very clean and quite charming. Biggest drawback for me was not enough plugs for electronic devices! There was no fridge, microwave or coffeepot in the room but that was not an issue for us. The lobby was blah and the elevators were slow. I wasn't overwhelmed by the warm fuzzies (not!) coming from the staff but we weren't there to see them anyway! There is no designated drop off zone for the hotel. With no bellman, luggage is dragged up about 3 steps then through the pull/push doors. Not a huge problem, though. All in all, I would stay there again just for the location and the comfy bed!

"Decent hotel. Good value. "
I read a lot of not so good reviews about this place so I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. When we first walked in the place smelled clean and fresh. We where greeted by friendly staff and checked in quickly and efficiently. My room wasn't the nicest but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

"In the heart of the theater district"
We had a delightful experience in the midst of the theater district action with a hotel home base that is conveniently located, even close to subways. The staff was warm and helpful, even allowing us to check in a little early when they found that our room could be made up quickly. And our room was more spacious than most hotels in this category. The hotel has a very nice lounge, a place to catch up on some work before heading out.

"Not Bad"
I was concerned upon entering b/c of the construction outsude, and the room was small, but it is New York! The bed was comfortable, but could have been more decorative. The best part of breakfast was the waffles! The batter was perfect! We were able to leave our bags after checkout, return and pick them up while we waited for our airport shuttle. Not bad for a short stay.

"Location is Off the beaten bath but a good value"
I live in the NYC area and I stayed at the Quality Inn for 1 night because I was going to a concert at Madison Square Garden and decided it would be better to stay in midtown since I had to be back the next morning for work. I need a decent night sleep to perform my very physical job and I would not have gotten that if I had gone back home and traveled again to midtown the next morning. Overall, I was satisfied and it was the right decision. The location is not the best because it is several blocks away from the garden, near the very busy entrance to Lincoln Tunnel. Aside from that, the room was clean and private. The staff was overall great and friendly. The bed was very comfortable and I got the sleep I needed. They also offer free breakfast in the morning which helped with my budget. Minor gripe - There was no soap or wash cloth in the bathroom. I had to request them but the staff immediately accommodated me. I would use them again.

Manhattan Broadway Budget Hotel

273 W 38th St, New York - Map
Me and my boyfriend were watching a boxing fight at Madison Square Garden. The hotel is just a few blocks away from the event, so it wasn't hard to just walk to wherever we needed to go. The location is great. Broadway, Times Square, and the Empire State Building are very close. The hotel itself is pretty compact, nothing luxurious or fancy about it. If you are looking to save as much as you can on your trip to NY in the city, this is the place to go.

"Super convenient!"
I decided to stay here because it was directly across from Penn Station which makes arriving and departing by train very easy. The staff was lovely - friendly, helpful. I got free wifi and a free movie which I hadn't expected. The hotel is clean but shabby. Carpets in the rooms could stand to be replaces and the furniture is pretty battered. Very comfortable bed, though. If you're obsessed with cleanliness the bathtubs may not be for you. The one in my room was clean but very stained with...? The hotel is huge so your room - as mine was- may be a lengthy hike to the elevators and there was often a wait for the elevators to arrive. Breakfast was included in my stay -otherwise it's $10.00. The breakfast was strange. Juices, coffee, tea but also big platters of cold cuts and processed cheese slices. Cut up baguettes and "pastries" that were obviously packaged. No toast, no muffin type pastries. Oddly- since breakfast begins at 7 AM - there were chocolate chip cookies ( again packaged) and one morning there was some kind of fruit bread - maybe banana? Cut up melon -which was what I ended up with. All in all it was fine. I was only in my room to shower and sleep and wasn't looking for anything fancy. Next door to Mavy's and there are several good cafes within a block.Obviously close to all public transportation -although Penn Station can be a nightmare to navigate. It's noisy because of the location but if you want a safe, relatively clean place to sleep it's fine. And inexpensive
