I was very impressed with the staff, they were friendly, and accommodating. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Great shower. You can't beat the location. Broadway, restaurants and subway. I would recommend this hotel for its location and the price was affordable.

Great mid-town locataion. Decent lobby. Very busy. Rooms are typical NYC size. I've been in smaller at trendy hotels. But it had a bed, the bathroom was updated, the carpets hadn't been cleaned in a while, A/C worked. Temp fluctuations in the shower was the worst of it; good pressure in the showever otherwise.

Hotel was great EXCEPT our air conditioning stopped 4 times - twice at 3:30 in the morning. We asked for a new room, but they were completely booked ... so at 4 am they sent a mechanic to put in a new air conditioning unit in our room. It worked better than the first one, but the breaker kept tripping it the rest of our stay. Front desk handled it well, and even gave us free breakfast for our probelms. Great location and subway station right at the door!

The Wellington is convenient (just across the street from Carnegie Hall and near a subway stop). Rooms were comfortable; we were upgraded to a suite. Hallways confusing (two buildings have been combined)

The Wellington staff is knowledgeable, courteous, and will go the extra mile for its guests. You can't beat the location. We were minutes from the Park, theater, restaurants and museums. I have stayed in this hotel on many occasions and have never been disappointed. Kudos to the management for a well run hotel.

The hotel is centrally located and that's basically its best feature. The decoration, as well as room utilities and services, need improvement. Rooms are very small.

The rooms are small & the staff is inefficient. They told us they were going to "upgrade" us twice & it never happened. Any time we needed a service, it seemed like we were bothering the staff.

Location, great. Staff, friendly, responsive and prompt. Old-style NY apartment hotel that has its charms. Springs protruded from mattress and a pad was provided on request after the first night. Mattress should be replaced. Did I mention that the location at 55th and 7th was just perfect for a Manhattan visit or getaway?

This hotel had a great location and the price we paid was very reasonable for the location. As noted in other reviews, the rooms were small, but you really aren't spending much time there. The staff was friendly and helpful to us when we needed them. The televisions were small but served their purpose when you are in the room taking a break.

My daughter and I went to NYC for a grad school interview. We have stayed at the W before and like the confidence of knowing the area. Everything is right there with lots of major interests (museums, shopping, plays) in walking distance. Rooms are clean, updated from the 1920's I would guess. We plan to go again. Price was very good for this part of NYC

The only negative thing of our trip was that we had booked a nonsmoking room and we were only able to get a smoking room and it was very small. I had four other couples stay at the hotel and their rooms were nice and large we were stuck with the closet room. we still had a good time outside of the room.
