Details about The Benjamin

The Benjamin Description

The Benjamin is an intimate and sophisticated boutique-style hotel that caters to the leisure traveler. It is designed for the traveler who would prefer a more private setting without compromising the comforts and amenities found in other New York four-star properties. The Benjamin is centrally located at 50th Street and Lexington Avenue.

The Benjamin's sophisticated boutique style stems from the vitality and warmth of its original design. Built in 1927 by world-renowned architect Emery Roth, it was one of his earlier and most successful skyscrapers. Award-winning designer Robert Di Leonardo of Di Leonardo International has created a new style of modern elegance, incorporating European influence, sophistication and comfort while preserving distinctive elements of Roth's architecture.

Guest room amenities include Executive desk and ergonomic chair, two-line speakerphone, two-line cordless phone, high-speed internet access and fax machine/printer/copier with dedicated line Bose Wave radio with alarm, in-room movies and video games, in-room electronic safe large enough for a laptop computer, galley kitchen, mini-bar aromatherapy bath products, over 10 different kinds of pillows, lighted make-up mirror, 100% cotton Frette sheets, and a down-filled duvet.

The Benjamin is a Non-Smoking Hotel.

My trip began with a horrible 9 hour layover in another city (due to weather), so I arrived at The Benjamin very road weary. The minute I stepped through the Benjamin's doors, I felt like I was treated like a dignitary. Then to come to a room with unbelievable comfort and amenities, I was floored for all that I got for what I paid. Plus the location was unbeatable.

My husband and I stayed at the Benjamin for our 5th wedding anniversary for a trip. When we checked in we were told that the hotel was slow so they would upgrade us. We told them that we were celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary so she gave us a 1 bedroom with a verandah. We were very happy with the room. It was very clean and housekeeping was wonderful. The only slight complaint I have is that the bathrooms were rather small. It was impossible for two people to be in there at one time. No counter space near the sink to place personal items. Had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel.
