Venetian Resort Hotel Casino Description

Presenting a Vegas spin on the upscale culture of Venice, the Venetian is located on the Strip and features a Grand Canal complete with gondola rides, a 120,000 square-foot casino, elegant accommodations, and is approximately four miles from McCarran International Airport.

Located on the site of the historic Las Vegas Sands and connected to the Sands Expo and Convention Center, the Venetian's signature feature is its quarter-mile Grand Canal, a waterway by piazzas and shops on which guests may partake in gondola rides. Performers entertain guests along the Grand Canal's cobblestone walkways. The Grand Canal Shoppes include 80 international boutiques and name-brand outlets. The hotel's casino offers table games, a semi-private high-limit salon, slot and video poker machines, and a luxury race and sports lounge. Live entertainment includes Broadway shows such as the Blue Man Group, the Phantom of the Opera, and Gordie Brown's Comedy Show. The Venetian is also home to Madame Tussaud's wax museum, housing replicas of celebrities, the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum, featuring high-end art exhibits. Canyon Ranch SpaClub is a 69,000 square-foot, two-level wellness and fitness facility offering massage therapies, beauty treatments, a beauty salon, acupuncture, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, a 40-foot indoor rock-climbing wall, fitness classes, and a cafe. The five-acre pool deck atop the fourth level of the Venetian tower has three pools, one whirlpool, ten cabanas for rent, cocktail service, and a central bar.

I come to Vegas 3-5 times a year every year for shows and to play cards. Suites and food are top notch, and the staff simply takes great care of you. My only complaint concerned some non-guests using the Venetian pool, which was corrected by security approximately 5 minutes after I called. A lot of hotels in Vegas will kiss your butt if you spend a lot of $ there, but the Venetian takes just as good care of my secretary and her mom when they come out, and that means a lot to me. I will only stay at the Venetian when I come to Vegas.

The Venetian is paradise. Way high on the class meter. Our party of 6 (2 adults, 2 teens, 2 20's) all loved it. The staff is attentive. The rooms are immaculate, large and beautifully decorated. Top notch all the way. We are planning to go back to Vegas in May and we will definately stay at the Venetian. I can't say enough about this classy hotel.

The hotel is absolutely stunning! When you first walk in you are blown away with its beauty. Our room was beautiful but the only fridge in the room was for the mini bar. We were unable to store any of the food we had left over from the restaurants the hotel had to offer. The pool closed at 6pm. It may have been because of the season, but was a definate disappointment. The casino did not have a good variety of games like some of the more established Casinos offered. We ended up going to other Casinos. Overall our stay at the Venetian was perferct for our honeymoon.

Stayed here for a conference and was very impressed. Rooms are large and luxurious. Power window shades, 2 flat screen TV's, printer and granite bathroom counters. Hotel is just a few blocks from a large mall with a discount ticket outlet.. Spectacular shopping and restaurants in the hotel also. One downside. I had a non smoking room; others on the floor smoked and the ventilation system concentrated the smoke in my room. You have no choice but to walk through the smoke filled casino to get to your room. Overall a wonderful experience. Would return in a heartbeat.

Not 5 stars! Check-in is not guaranteed until 5 PM. Housekeeping didn't bring face clothes or clean our room unless we called. Told that I was too late for breakfast at 11:01 and that nowhere else in the hotel still served breakfast. Service was slow or non-existing in the restaurants. Every other hotel that we visited on the strip had pleasant and helpful staff that the Venetian was lacking. I was very surprised considering we paid $700 a night. We ended up sleeping at the Venetian and spending all our time at other hotels where we were treated as guest, not an inconvenience.

The hotel itself is beautiful but the service from the staff is lousy. We waited over an hour to be served drinks at the pool - not good when the temperature is in the high 90's. The food is ok but does not justify the high prices. Check-in takes an eternity. Condo/time share sales people harrass you as soon as you enter the hotel lobby (the hotel encourages this by allowing them to have booths inside the lobby).

I stayed at the new Palazzo thinking it was "open" when actually it was the "soft" opening (meaning the hotel wasn't ready to be opened but took in guests anyway) yet the hotel wasn't forthcoming of this fact! The hotel had a sewer problem, the elevators didn't work properly, and none of the rooms were finished. Management was smug, obstinate, unsympathetic, and did NOTHING to compensate their guests. In addition, the hotel charged PREMIUM PRICES for an incomplete product!

I spent 10 nights at The Venetian earlier this month and had an amazing time. Restaurants, shopping, shows it has everything you'd want. I can't wait to go back next year. The areas I'd like are improved the bathrobes and towels need to be softer. They're way too scratchy. Second, the bedding needs to be better sized. The sheets are way too short for the size of the beds.

Be careful in choosing your room at The Venetian as they are remodelling. We were awakened each morning about 7 on the weekend with demolition of the rooms above us and then our room on our leaving. B&B food is superb but not food court on Canal level. The front desk is 300 yards from room elevators with narrow path through casino to navigate. TV checkout not working. No coffeemaker in room. For this price, I'd go back to Bellagio or Four Seasons.

The Venetian is a beautiful hotel with many opportunities to shop, dine, gamble and be entertained. Our room was in the Venezia tower and it was absolutely gorgeous but we had to walk through hallways, lobbies and up 2 different elevators to get to it!
