The Hilo Seaside Hotel is a comfortable hotel in a lush setting, marred by a lack of adequate parking and handicapped access to many rooms. It is acceptably clean, and reasonably priced for Hawaii. Wheelchair bound travelers may find it a challenge, be sure to confirm access before you book here - there lots of steps. If you are noise adverse, you may want to avoid this location, the airport is less than 1/2 mile away.

We stay here about two times/year This delightful family business is hanging in there with honest prices, clean rooms, and pleasant staff. It's dated, but that's part of the charm! The remodeled restaurant now has ambiance AND good food. My eighty years plus parents managed the few steps between levels easily.

Rooms are in serious need of remodeling, Black mold every where. Don't expect the sheets to be changed everyday or even wkly. Noise @ all hrs. of the nite. Parking is a farce, if not back @ hotel by 5:00 p.m. you will have to take your chances. Good place to eat just around the corner @ Ken's house of Pancakes. Save your money and go somewhere else. Heck go to the Hostel down town it's very clean and reasonably priced. Hilo is *$* plus years behind but it is such a cool Place. Aloha

Upon check in I found the staff very friendly. No complaints about the room as previous review stated. Laundry facility located on property which is a plus. There is a restaurant located on the property and found the food very tasty. There are several eatting spots within walking distance. Besides Ken's try Verna's Drive Inn the Pastele Plate was the Bomb! I would definately return, you can't go wrong with the price. One other thing we stayed by the Pool side and there was not a sound from those Coquie frogs :o)
