Details about Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground Description

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is a rustic hideaway located within several acres of natural forestland and approximately 15 miles from Orlando International Airport. Local attractions include Disney's Magic Kingdom® and Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Parks. Ferries and buses provide transportation to all Walt Disney World® Resort areas.

Aspiring cowpokes can mosey-on-over to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch & Farm to engage in horseback and pony rides, horse-drawn carriage rides, and a farm full of gentle critters. Rent a bike or an electric cart, or simply jog through the nature trails and appreciate the unspoiled scenery. Down by the sands of Bay Lake Beach, guests may catch a few rays or rent a kayak or motorized boat. Two outdoor pools provide a way to beat the heat, and children will enjoy the four playgrounds and two video arcades. Tennis courts are also located on site (equipment not provided). After the sun goes down, Chip 'n Dale will stop by to keep the festivities going with a campfire sing-a-long and an outdoor viewing of a classic Disney film. Additional amenities include babysitting services, laundry facilities, laundry services, and parking. Dining options include the homestyle cookin' of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, featuring a live hoe-down. Live country music, line-dancing, and rope tricks are just the beginning at Mickey's Backyard BBQ buffet. Additional dining options include the Trail's End Restaurant, and a variety of eateries in Crockett's Tavern.

With Extra Magic Hours, guests staying at a Walt Disney World® Resort have even more chances to experience the magic. Each day one of the Disney Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to three hours after regular Park closing, so guests can enjoy easy access to select attractions - even the most popular ones!

We love camping, but hesitated to stay at Disney because we hate "resort" campgrounds because they never have enough trees and feel like you are camping in a parking lot. This campground is spectacular. It has plenty of tall trees and vegetation so you still feel like you are camping, but the service, cleanliness and amenities are nothing like we expected. We love it so much that we about to take our 4th trip in 5months. Don't even have to visit the parks to enjoy your trip, they are a perk! Looove this place!!
