Sanibel Inn Description

The Sanibel Inn is located on Sanibel Island, 19 miles from Southwest Florida International Airport. The grounds offer multiple varieties of indigenous flowers of jasmine, periwinkle, bougainvillea, lantana, dune daisy, hibiscus and butterfly gardens shaded by more than 600 palms. With 23 miles of paved hiking and bike paths, guests experience nature up close and personal, gazing at spoonbills and herons. Exploration continues on the beach where more than 200 rare species of shells, including junonia and alphabet cones, await discovery.

The Sanibel Inn offers golf at The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club winding through 75 acres of natural lake view fairways and Audubon Cooperative Society wetlands. For fare with a musical flair, Ellingtons Jazz Bar and Restaurant features the freshest Southwest Florida seafood and tops off meals with live jazz, offered seven nights a week.

Guest accomodations offer warm-toned bamboo flooring along with a palette of grass green, sea blue and golden wheat featured in trellis and striped patterns, photos of the local flora and fauna framed in dark wood. Guest rooms include DVD players and high speed wireless Internet access (daily fee).

This really was such a wonderful trip! The hotel is right on the beach, clean, and has a very friendly helpful staff. The pool was small but pleasant and the poolside bar was a nice place to grab a frozen drink and a light lunch. We loved the complimentary bikes and beach chairs. Ellington's Jazz was a bit pricey but terrific atmosphere and music. Definitely Sanibel is a great place to get warm and relax from the rat race! Only things missing are complimentary breakfast and free DVD/book selection (you pay enough to expect that!). Had an amazing time!!
