The 19-story W San Diego is three blocks from Little Italy, eight blocks from the historic Gaslamp Quarter, and approximately three miles from San Diego International Airport. This location is also two blocks from the San Diego Trolley, four blocks from San Diego Bay, five blocks from the Embarcadero (ferries and excursions) and Horton Plaza, and two miles from Balboa Park and San Diego Zoo.

Really cool and hip place. Geared toward young singles. Good staff, funky cool rooms. Nice toiletries. Ridiculously expensive food ($8 bagel!?!). Expensive internet. But this place caters to people who don't care about cost.

I'm a local. Staying at the W for the evening instead of driving home after an evening of dancing and drinking is the best vacation ever. I took my daughter and 3 of her friends for an evening of fun and we all had a great time. The downstairs bar is super fun and all ages were seen enjoying the music. I can't wait to go back next month!

Rooms were modern and comfortable, with awesome bedding and Bliss spa products. Parking was expensive and staff was not exceptionally friendly or helpful. Valet guys were better for information than hotel staff. Overall, a pleasant experience.
