Melia Caribe Tropical All-Inclusive is situated on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, approximately 25 miles from Bavaro Beach and 12 miles from Punta Cana International Airport.

Hotel amenities include the two health spas (with sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, gym, beauty salon, spa services, etc), Cocotal Golf & Country Club, jewelry shop, souvenir and press shop, eight tennis courts, seven pools, arcade, casino, climbing wall, batting cage, and watersports. The resort has two lobby bars, two pool bars, two beach bars, sports bar, Fun Pub bar, and lounge bar. On-site dining options include La Hacienda, Capri, La Gondola, Hokkaido, Ma Maison, Steakhouse, American Grill, Le Gourmet, Pagoda, El Turey, El Guarapo, Atabales, and Agora. The all-inclusive rate includes unlimited food and drink, local and imported alcoholic beverages, house wine and sparkling wine at dinner, non-motorized watersports, all resort fitness and recreation facilities, all resort activities and entertainment, shuttles to the golf course, all taxes and gratuities, and a supervised children's club with Flintstones characters, the Yabba-Dabba-Doo bazaar, and Flinstones-inspired gardens and swimming pools. The hotel also offers snorkeling excursions (at extra charge), babysitting, 24-hour taxi-service, a pharmacy, and a business center.

All rooms feature private bathrooms, hairdryers, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, cable TV, direct-dial telephones, Internet access (fee applies), radio alarm clocks, mini-coolers, safes (fee applies), irons and ironing boards, and furnished balcony or terraces.

The hotel itself was lovely, the food was very good. Check in was the worst experience of my traveling career, and I was a travel agent for 10 years so I have seen my share.The most frustrating part was that eveything was lost in traslation. I was one of possibly 2 dozen couples that waited over 2.5 hours for my room to be ready. The property is very large and confusing to get around, directions are not easily given, nor understood.
