"Back to Vista Cay again wouldn't stay anywhere else"

Arrived at vista Cay for a 3 week stay on the 6th Feb this was my second time .I would never stay in a hotel room in Florida again, when you stay here its like home from home with warm weather .We decided to upgrade to a penthouse 3 bed condo overlooking the lake the view was great we could see the rides at Seaworld , we didn't see any fireworks as promised but maybe it was too early in the year. As we had already 'done Disney' twice and the kids were not bothered we purchased a Universal/Seaworld 14 day tickets. Managed to visit Busch gardens twice (my favourite).Hired a mobility scooter for the parks cost $175.00 for 3 weeks its $50.00 a day in the parks and service was great and it was very handy at the premium outlets and Walmarts.Had a great stay even managed to go to a rodeo but it was a bit late to go to the State fair but it looked dazzling at night .Still hate toll roads though and deff want to return as stated in other reviews the aircon was abit of a pain at times but ok. Next time we might just give the parks a miss and relax in style !

"Okay stay, acceptable option."

Stayed at the Vista Cay Millennium for five days in May. We were doing a combo of Sea World, Space Center, Epcot and Disney. The resort had good reviews on Trip Advisor, and for the price of a hotel room, and half the price of Disney resorts, a three room condo seemed like a good idea. The Pros: Price was excellent for the space and convenience of the place. Location was good, giving us easy access to all the places we wanted to go while removing us from some of the crowds. Convenience to the roads we wanted was a big plus. Disney was the longest drive and we were at Epcot and the Magic Kingdom in 15-20 minutes. Also convenient for heading tot he Space coast. The Publix super market was right next door and that was an excellent benefit. The condos were not full while we were there, so the crowds were right, and the noise was low. The check in was quick, efficient, and prior to the stated check in time. The person who greeted me was friendly and knowledgeable, and the billing was accurate. The condo itself was spacious and presented well. It was clean, and access was easy. The noise level at night was excellent and we were able to sleep well after long days. The Cons: We entered the condo to the air fully running, and set at 46 degrees. I overrode that and the temperature came up quickly, but I soon found that the temperature programs had been set at various times throughout the day to go back to 46. I had to re-program the entire heating/cooling system. The ice maker on the refrigerator would not distribute ice. I had to empty it and let it refill after which it worked once and then not again. In the second bathroom the sink drain stopper would keep going in and would not release. Had to use skinny kitchen knives to open the stopper and allow water to drain. The bedside lamp in the master bedroom had a broken switch on it and could only be turned on and off by plugging and unplugging it. The internet in the place was okay, but was hit and miss. The kitchen was not overly stocked. There were some plates and dishes, but not really enough. The televisions in the bedrooms were 13 inch models straight from the early 90's with no remotes, and the picture on them was fuzzy at best. If you're nostalgic for viewing tv the old fashioned way, these were for you. Summary: Worth the money to not be at a Disney park, or overly crowded by people. Convenience was excellent. The little irritating details drop the property from 4 (very good) to 3 (just average). My scale for rating hotel properties is below. 5 - (Excellent) Exceeds expectations based on price, location, and pre-visit expectations. - Yes, Yes, stay there (a rarely given recommendation) 4 - (Very Good) Value, location, and pre-visit expectations are met during the course of the visit - recommended 3 - (Average) Meets value, location, and pre-visit expectations for the most part, but shows problems in some areas. - Stay is a mileage may vary type of situation. 2 - (Poor) Over priced, poor location, doesn't meet expectations - some combination of these things. Not recommended 1 - (Terrible) - RUN AWAY

"Excellent accommodation"

Having read the various reviews the trick seems to be to book through Millenium. Our 3 bedroomed condo was in beautiful condition including a well appointed kitchen. We had requested accommodation close to the pool and they duly obliged. As others have said it is an ideal base for the various theme parks and the local publix supermarket is excellent. I would also commend Millenium for the service they provided before our visit when queries were always promptly replied to and with great friendliness. Indeed difficult to find any faults apart from a couple of very minor things. On one occasion we asked the reception if there was a restaurant within walking distance to give us a break from driving. We were given the name of a restaurant which we were told was about a mile away. On further investigation the restaurant turned out to be 2 miles away although we did find an alternative that was only a mile away. On another occasion we asked where we could buy postage stamps and we were told that Publix sold them. When we asked at Publix they said they didn't but Vista Cay did. When we returned to Vista Cay there was a machine selling stamps! Agreed these are both very minor niggles and I would add that on a couple of occasions when there were minor maintenance problems with our rooms they were rectified almost immediately including a service visit at 10pm - very impressive. This is the first time we have strayed away fro hotels when visiting Florida and we were a bit nervous about booking at Vista Cay. I am pleased to say that all our fears were unfounded and in future this is the type of accommodation we will go for.

"The best in Orlando !"

We have stayed at Vista Cay 5 times in total and would not stay anywhere else in Orlando Vista Cay is a kind of Gated Community, you can book 2/3/4 bedroom condos, or 3 bed town house. These are owned by individual owners, so each one is decorated differently. We prefer to stay on the main Vista Cay site, rather then the Isle which is another site a few seconds drive from VC. Staff are always friendly and very efficient, any problems rectified almost immediately. We recently stayed in April (2013) in a 3 bed townhouse. The house was clean and tidy upon arrival and had everything you need for a home from home holiday. Even a washer and dryer which makes it easy for when you arrive home, you can do your washing before you leave. VC is not a hotel, so you will need to keep your own house clean and tidy, as there is no maid service. We had a problem with our Wifi, and our door lock but both were fixed within an hour of reporting. Pool area is clean and tidy with plenty of beds for lazing around ! There is a shop on site which can be a tad expensive, though there is a Wallgreens a short walk away and a Publix just over the road. VC is a perfect place to stay for anyone holidaying in Orlando. We find it nicer then hotels, as you have a house rather then one room, in a hotel. You can also cook for yourself if you have had a busy day doing nothing, or being out and about. If you are looking to go to Orlando look no further and stay here !! International Drive is a $10 taxi ride away, close to the I4 which is the main 'motorway' in Orlando. Been home two weeks and we are already looking for a date we can return !

"Gone downhill"

This was our 2nd time staying. Last year our unit was wonderful. Small things broken, but overall not a big deal. It is a privately owned rental after all so I didn't expect it to be perfect. This year we rented a 3 bedroom. We were afraid to touch anything for fear it would break. On day 2 I talked to the front desk and they promised a call from the GM as well as maintenance to come. Day 4 I did the same. Maintenance finally came and dropped a remote off (missing one) and fixed the laundry doors. Never touched the headboards that were loose on my kids beds. All the repairs in the unit would have taken less then 2 hours. All small things, but they added up to lots of annoyances. The towel bar fell off the shower, the counter was getting loose and needed caulking in the kitchen, the covers for the DVD players had been ripped off (making lots of fingers getting hurt with a curious 3 year old), broken pictures, broken locks, no large pans for cooking, missing clocks... The list could go on for pages. Also no call from the GM. You are not allowed to lower the thermostat lower then 72. The living room was freezing all the time and the bedrooms were hot. No ceilings fan in our unit so no circulation. We have family that stays here as well as us. We thought we found a diamond in the rough last year. Guess not. Doubt any of us will come back. Our tune might be better if the GM would have taken the 5 minutes to call. Not doing that makes us think they don't care about the customer. Especially repeat customers.
