"loews royal not so royal"

3.0/5

Tue, Jun 18, 2013 Syracuse, New York

The staff was friendly and the resort was nice...not four star though. The food, especially breakfast was very expensive, much more so than four and five star hotels we have experienced before. Housekeeping did not meet even average standards. Our coffee, sugar and cups were never replaced. Our room had two queen beds and only one was made every day. The other was left piled with pillows, bed rolls and shams. Don't look under the bed...dusty. We were not able to control the room temperature, even after a visit from maintenance. A nice touch was being able to print boarding passes and the concierge was very helpful. We tried Emerils on the property which was excellent but dinner and one bottle of wine was over $300. Drinks at the pool were $15. All things considered we would not stay here again.

"They are awesome, EXCEPT that they nickel and dime"

We stayed at both the Royal Pacific and Disney's Polynesian on this trip. The obvious pluses are the location and perks for the parks. The Royal Pacific seems much more new and modern, with much more attention paid to detail. The rooms feel better and safer, and of course the front of the park access and extra hour for Harry are beyond compare. However, when you pay a premium for the hotel, you expect certain things included. Wi-Fi was not free, parking was exorbitant (Disney parking is free when you stay on-site), and they offer a variety of waters and snacks at greatly inflated prices. It felt like they were attempting to put their hand down my pocket! Having said that, if is a great resort overall.

"Great Resort...Great Vacation"

5.0/5

Tue, Jun 18, 2013

Just returned from a terrific 7 night stay at the Royal Pacific. The resort is very beautiful, spotless, and very well kept. The rooms are very nice, and very comfortable. Pool is great though unfortunately the Central Florida weather didn't give us a lot of opportunity to use it. The staff was also terrific with the front desk staff being tremendous. This was our first time back to Universal after about 4 straight years of Disney. Wow does Universal do a better job. Disney needs to go back to basics as they have really fallen down. The hotel is nicer and more upscale with service than the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Polynesian, ect. The staff at this resort and Universal as a whole is the way Disney used to be. All around great experience and would highly recommend this hotel.

"Exactly what we were hoping for."

Firstly, if it's within your budget, the Club Level upgrade is definitely worth doing. We made really good use of this by tucking into a great breakfast before hitting the parks each day, and then relaxing for an hour or two with a few beers each afternoon. The bedrooms are a really god size, clean and comfortable. The pool area is large and very relaxing with a frequent bar service. Food is also good by the pool. Without a doubt, we will book this hotel for future visits.

"Great and helpful valet service"

5.0/5

Mon, Jun 17, 2013 Singapore, Singapore

The Royal Pacific hotel had really helpful valets to assist in check-ins and directions. I was served by Mr Juan who helped me to check in while assisting in parking my rented car with great convenience. He subsequently helped in providing directions to many of the attractions in Orlando.
