"I agree with Aussiegirls4......not a four star hotel"

3.0/5

Thu, May 16, 2013 Orlando, Florida

We had a similar experience: we arrived after traveling Orlando-London-Rome (exhausted) and told our room was given to someone else and they would pay for a taxi to another hotel.....just for the first night. Nice. I had reserved about 7 months in advance.....guess that wasn't good enough. The next five nights were uneventful and the room was good. The location is good because its fairly quiet. there is a three-four block walk to metro....one block to the bus. Get ready for bunk board hard beds.....experienced this in Florence also. Breakfast was OK. We went once but I was glad we didn't have it included in the room price. We had better breakfasts right near the Metro entrance at Barberini Piazza at the end of Via Veneto. This will be the closest Metro entrance. Get the three day Roma Pass....covers all your bus/metro and two free entrances to sites.... In a nutshell.....for this money you are not getting what you expect.

"Not a four star"

Wed, May 15, 2013 Melbourne, Australia

Arrived early to be told room was not ready which is fair enough was told to come back at 1.30 maybe room will be ready. When we returned at 1.30 was told no you will have to wait until 2 but if you would like to pay 25 euro you could have room straight away. The lift is very small and very slow. Bed was very hard think maybe some marble from the buildings around Rome have been used as beds. Breakfast on the roof was good and the view was great. The man on front desk wasnnot very friendly and not very helpful. The decor of the room was funny with weird art work on the walls very much Italian it needs an update, Bathroom needed a good clean. This is not a four star hotel and people should be prepared for a lower standard.

"Four nights in Rome"

3.0/5

Tue, May 14, 2013 Zurich, Switzerland

We stayed in Rome for four nights starting May 9th. When we arrived on Thursday evening we were told that the room was not ready (the former guest had not checked out because he was sick) and we had to stay in another building two streets away. The room was okay and clean but not up to the hotel's standards. When we checked into the hotel the next morning the room was still not ready and we were told that we had actually booked a room in the Luxury Residence building (just next door) and not in the hotel itself. However, we were upgraded to a room in the hotel without additional costs. The reservation included a link to the hotel site with pictures which is very misleading. On Saturday, our room had not been made when we arrived at 7pm after having left the hotel at 10am. The reason they gave us s that the "do not disturb" sign was on and rooms only get cleaned until 2pm. We had not put on the sign. Why would we, leaving at 10am and returning at 7pm to get ready for dinner? Overall, the hotel is in a very nice location and has a stunning breakfast roof terrasse. The room was nice and elegant. The staff is not very friendly nor helpful and does not meet our service expectations for a four star hotel. The should clearly point out the difference between the hotel and the "Luxury Residence" facilities next door.

"Best Hotel in Rome"

5.0/5

Mon, May 13, 2013 Jacksonville, Florida

I've been to the Romanico Palace for 4 nights from May 6th, I had a wonderful stay here with my fiance. Our room was beautiful with hand made decoration and frescos. Everything was perfect from the check-in, the breakfast, the room, the friendly staff and the service. We emailed the hotel before of arrival, telling that we were going to Rome to celebrate a special anniversary and we found in the room a bottle of sparkling wine and VIP treatment all complimentary! We had several questions about the City, what to do, tours, restaurant and more. The receptionist always had something to suggest, always smiling and caring of us. I will recommend the Romanico Palace to anyone and I'll choose it again for my future stay in Rome

"Should be 3 stars"

Thu, May 9, 2013 San Diego, California

We stayed in the Romanico Palace Hotel for 3 nights at the end of April and it was by far the WORST hotel we have ever stayed in. The front desk were rude and dismissive and they actually assigned us to a room that someone was already staying in!!! When we opened the door, we saw stuff already scattered about and someone laying in bed. It was extremely embarrassing and when we went downstairs to inform the front desk, they did not even apologize. Instead of trying to find us another room, they were busy trying to figure out how the mistake occurred! This hotel is in no way large...maybe about 75 rooms...so it was a little difficult to figure out something like that occurred. Our room was dingy and old looking and still dirty. Not all the lights worked and there was no natural light. The hotel may be advertised as 4 stars, BUT IT IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT!!!!
