"Nice stay after poor start"

Pleasant stay at the Red Lion - this after a rocky start as computer systems were down and line took almost 45 minutes to check in. Staff handled it pretty well. Although I had reserved a river view room, staff said they were out when we checked in (a bit frustrating after specifically reserving one online).

All of the staff are very friendly. The restaurant is reasonably priced and delicious. Nice lobby to congregate and hang out. Rooms are clean and the ones with the view of the river are spectacular. Great central location to walk the river, walk downtown or walk to the river park. The waiter even remembered our breakfast order by person from the day before and we were a group of 7!

Stayed here for our nephew's graduation. His college was a drive but we stayed here because it was on the river near all the action and where the graduation was to be held. A few family members stayed here as well. We had trouble finding the Lobby to check in, we didn't see one sign. So we guessed, thought we went in the wrong room since it said Convention Center, but the manager asked if we needed help, the checkin was right behind us, no sign though! LOL We were upgraded for free to the Executive Towers to the top floor with a beautiful view of the river and the empty pool. The pool was filled up on Saturday but they kept it closed and it was still closed on Monday. So couldn't use that, so that is why I gave the Spa 1 star. If that rating is referring to a fitness/massage area, we didn't see that. Other than that, we loved how close we were to the parade and marathon (didn't know either of those things were going on this weekend.) It added to the fun. The $9 fee to park seemed fair, it secured us a parking spot during all the events. Since we were in the Executive Tower, our car was parked right next to it and we had our own section of the hotel with it's own door to the parking lot, so never went through the lobby part again. In reading other reviews of how crowded it was with the convention going on, we weren't affected at all by that. It was quiet. We never did get over to the restaurants, we used our refrigerator and ate off site, one of them being Coeur d'Alene, an easy short drive we highly recommend. We hiked Tubbs Hill. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel.

"Great stay for Lilac Torchlight Parade"

Wonderful hotel and the friendliest staff you could find anywhere. The food was terrific both in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet. The proximity to the park is wonderful for strolls and easy walking access to downtown. I would recommend a stay at this hotel to my best friends and wouldn't give it a second thought! I will defiantly stay here again (as a matter of fact this will always be my choice when staying in Spokane).

We found the staff at the front desk courteous and competent. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The pillows were amazing. I spent some time waiting for family in the lobby area, and enjoyed the relaxing feel about it. A large number of students arrived for their stay for the Lilac Parade and they seemed to be checked in promptly and efficiently. The walking proximity to downtown and access to Riverfont Park make this hotel a great place to stay.
