"Could be so much better"

This place is good, but not without it's problems. We stayed in an oceanfront room. It was awesome to walk right out the back door onto the beach. The beach rentals would bring umbrellas and chairs to right outside your room. This was super convenient to have access to the ocean and to your own refrigerator and bathroom. The restaurants were all indoors. When at a beach resort I prefer to eat lunch outside. This could only be done by going inside, placing an order to go, then carrying it to an outside table. Absurd! They messed up our lunch order and it was very inconvenient to track someone down to help me There was no one walking around taking drink orders. You had to walk to the bar, order a drink and carry it out. We were not impressed with breakfast at the Inn Restaurant or lunch from The Patio, so we canceled our reservations for The Sea Horse Grille. Glad we did because there are many excellent restaurants nearby. We enjoyed Aqua Grill, Caps and Palm Valley Fish Camp. We also drove to St Augustine to dine at Casablanca Monica which is excellent. The Inn is not only a resort for guests, but a country club for the local wealthy. Saturday was extremely crowded with members. We had a group set up 4 deep sea fishing poles on the beach directly in front of us. I told one of the men I would like to get into the water without getting hooked. He told me I could go somewhere else. I was very surprised to see fisherman on a crowded beach where there were swimmers, surfers and people playing in the waves. Hotel management said there were no rules they were breaking. I would not recommend this resort. It caters to it's members more than to it's guests.

Ponte Vedra Inn and Club had everything we needed to relax for four days during my college sons' Spring Break. The resort is well-maintained, the beach was beautiful, and the staff was very helpful. We liked the concept of the adult pool area. The beach was expansive and beautiful. The food was good but not great, and the restaurants felt like stuffy country clubs in need of updating. After the first night, we ventured out to some of the good restaurants in the area and were very pleased.

Ponte Vedra club is an excellent place to take your family. The beaches here are much more private than many of the others that I have been before. The tennis is great and the golf (ocean course) is very good. The service is excellent from desk to door! The food is average in my opinion..... (didnt eat at lodge this visit but I have on previous visit).

A friendly greeting upon arrival with an early check in set the stage for a great stay at this resort. Walk the beach from outside your room or enjoy a great golf course at this perfect location. The entire service staff is there to make your stay a memory.

There was absolutely no disappointment in this experience. My mothers 82nd birthday and I wanted to take her somewhere she would feel special...and the staff made sure that happened. It was such a exceptional location and the accommodations were superb. We enjoyed the dining in and out of the room. The turn-down service was even made special every night with small shell gifts and literature about the area. Any one can give a mint but a turtle made from shells...now that is special. My mother was apprehensive about going... But the staff was so very warm, genuine and welcoming I was fearful I won't be able to get her to leave. No dollars every spent more wisely. Thanks to everyone at the lodge.
