"Rip off"

This place separates its guest through a so called VIP system. The beach is horrible, (rocks the entire stretch). They have birds roaming the resort which is not nice during meals. The food is editable but by no means tasty, with the exception of breakfast and the Italian restaurant. When we first arrived they gave us our room key after waiting for an hour and a half to check in, when we arrived to the room and entered, someone was in the room sleeping, yes you guessed correct, and they gave us the key to someone's room. You have to pay for the lock for the safe or take a chance on getting robbed by the staff. If you stay here by all means do the grand oasis viva and not the oasis viva, at least you won't have to pay to eat at the better restaurants or for the better liquor. Otherwise, it’s not worth it.

My wife and I enjoyed our 1st Anniversary at the Oasis Viva Apr 21-29. Best part is the beach. Always chairs and Palapas available. Water is great, almost lagoon-like with little to no waves. It's situated facing Northwest so you are sheltered from wind and have a spectacular sunset view. My only complaint about the beach is every other day they blast loud music on the beach. I wish they would keep it by the pool. The beach is for relaxing and listening to the water and the waves. The rooms need some upgrade. Bathrooms are 2 stars at best. Horrible plaster patching and fixture repairs. The front doors to rooms are too small for the threshold therefore letting lots of light and sound in from the hallways. Beds are very comfortable though (at least ours were). We had an issue with loud neighbors one evening that were also getting high and front desk had us moved in 30 mins to a nice quiet (and better) room. Big Plus in my book.! Food was okay. Certainly edible. Plenty of fresh fruit for breakfast. Street taco cart by the pool was fantastic. We had those everyday day, and Martin prepared them for us with a smile. Dinner could be hit or miss but soups were always good and salad is salad. Mongolian grill wasn't bad either. We did have an issue with the housekeeping replacing water everyday. We tipped too. Across from the hotel is a convenient store called "Extra". Water was 16 pesos there (about $1.20) for 4 liters. 2 of those lasted us the week. Snacks very inexpensive there too. Nightly entertainment was good too. Thurs nite Michael Jackson show was really good. I would not recommend upgrading to the Grand as I don't believe the extra cost would be worth it. I would recommend the Oasis Viva to anyone considering it for the price. Would like to see them keep the music at the pool though.

the location was great short walking distance from the malls and bus stops ($1.00) . Hotel is on the beach small but nice, Close to street so easy to leave and get around. The food choice were very good esp if you are upgraded to Grand Oasis. Bartenders and food servers were all very nice and friendly. Had a great room clean and had a balcony Higher floors did not have balcony. Mexican rest. was the most fun waiter Lius was great. ONly small problem is you have to read a tv screen in the lobby to find out activities for the day , need board outside in the pool area so you dont have to stand in lobby to see what the show is and times. NO paper hand out w the different rest and bar times or locaton of them everything is on the tv screen so read fast or stand and wait for it to reappear.

"Left during our stay, even with no refund"

The service and food at this hotel was SO BAD that we left and paid for a different hotel (Fiesta American Condesa was fabulous), even with no refund from Oasis Viva or Expedia (we tried). - Check-in Process was something nobody should ever have to experience. Our front desk agent literally walked away from us into the back room, with no explanation, for over 40 minutes. The total check-in process took over an hour. We had to ask another agent multiple times where our agent was/what he was doing before one finally started to assist us. When we finally received our keys they did not work. As there was a line at the front desk, we had to ask a housekeeper to let us into our room. - They have one buffet room, one Mexican restaurant, and one lunch option that is literally only chicken. The buffet it a joke - very few options, but it wouldn't really matter as the food is virtually inedible. The Mexican restaurant was mediocre, but certainly not a place one could eat at for every meal. We asked the front desk if there were any more lunch options (as we were not provided ANY information at check-in). She seemed confused and unsure.. confirmed with another agent, and then told us that we could eat at the Italian restaurant. We walked over to it and were stopped by guards telling us we weren't allowed to eat there. It was not shocking in the least that the front desk didn't even know food options for its guests. - Adults-only in this case means left over Spring Breakers
