The hotel was very nice. The pool area was a lot of fun and a great daytime experience. THe over cost for a night of over $400.00 was too high for the hotel, especially since it seemed the majority of the guests were all from Disney cruise and did not pay the same rate. Also it was frustrating that the pool area became so over crowded with non-hotel guests taking up spaces by the pool from paying guests.

Our family of 4 shared the room and it was a tight fit for 4 people to try and get into luggage jumping over each other. It would a better option to provide a large room with 2 beds then the standard room size.

My husband and I stayed at the Galvez for the week-end. We love this hotel and we always stay at the Galvez each time we come to Galveston. Our room was on the 3rd floor with at wonderful view of the ocean. The room was quite spacious with a wonderful bed. Nice bathroom. The staff is very nice and helpful. We loved the sunday brunch with nice food and lots of mimosas. We was lucky to view a wedding in the garden in front of the hotel. We absolutely recommend this hotel.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this Hotel and were very impressed with all the details that went into the restoration. I would give this rating a 5, but our only disappointment was our not being able to have breakfast off the menu on Sunday morning. The hostess informed us that even though it was 10:20 am, and the brunch would begin at 11:00, that we would have to find breakfast elsewhere. A simple note in the rooms would be helpful so guests would know that the breakfast time is limited on Sunday for ordering off the menu in the dining room. The hotel front desk told us at check in that breakfast ended at 11am. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable.
