"Wow. Verrry nice HIE! Get Ocean front and enjoy!"

I've had some mixed experiences at Holiday Inn Express before in different locations, but I wanted something on the newer side (check!) read: clean (check!) while visiting OC recently, with a nice Ocean view (check!) with a King Size bed (check!) with a nice pool (check!) on the boardwalk (check!). We got all that and more: parking, space, blazing morning sunrise, nice salt air blowing through the room at night, the sound of waves crashing on the beach at night... ahh! Expensive? Well that's all relative. We had a suite, couldn't have been happier. The ONLY reason I down-rated from 5 stars to 4 was their restaurant on site (well, the little café thing) was kind of an afterthought, and they're missing out on some great opportunity to have a nice Ocean Side bar (either up high or along the boardwalk on property). Otherwise: excellent! (see photos). Oh, and that king size bed? Absolutely Awesome! Best sleep I had in a while!

We Love this Hotel!!! If you can, get a direct ocean front room. It doesn't get any better than having morning coffee with my wife on the balcony and watching the sun rise over the ocean. Nice room with kitchen and a separate living room area. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. Another nice thing is that you can walk right down the step from the hotel on to the boardwalk. Our room had a couple of small things that needed fix, which the staff promptly fixed. Nice indoor and outdoor pools and plenty of chaises to lounge on. There are baskets of fresh fruit in the lobby every day. I can probably say that this will be our home away from home for years to come!!!

This hotel has a great location and terrific pools, both indoor and out with one more suited for kids which is wonderful if you enjoy the quiet on the adult side. We also enjoyed the deck bar for lunch and afternoon beverages. The access to the beach is either down 3 flights of 6 steps or down the elevator and around the side. The balconies are private and face the ocean and are great. If you are handicapped or short you may have trouble getting in and out of the large jacuzzi tub/showers. The rooms are showing wear with some silly things not fixed such as the hook on the back of the bathroom door, but overall still great rooms. I had to have maintenance fix the thermostat to go below 69, but once he came it was fine. Beware the afternoon/evening weekday bartender, Patrick, who is both arrogant and pretentious. This seems to be the opinion of the bar community in Ocean City as well, since whenever his name was mentioned, other bartenders were quick to agree. The drinks, however, are good. The hotel offers complimentary whole fruit all day in the lobby and the personnel, with the exception of Patrick, are wonderful. I would definitely stay here again.

There is no better place to stay in O.C than the H.I on the boardwalk- especially if you have children. The staff is just the gold standard! Everyone is so friendly and sweet, and they will go out of their way to accomodate any special requests. We love the big suites with full kitchens and spa baths. The children love the kid's pool and having the beach and the boardwalk just outside the door. The views are fantastic!

This is our third year there, and we will continue going back again! The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the hotel and pool are always clean. Definitely recommend for families. Hotel is right on the beach and boardwalk, and there is plenty to do on and off site!
