"Nice but loud. Not a place for adults with kids or to relax"

The Hard Rock is a great Hotel if you are ready to party. We were visiting San Diego for our Anniversary and the positive is that our room was nice and clean and a great size, the rooftop pool is small but trendy and the restaurants are great. Also the Hotel is conveniently located to get to restaurants and attractions. The negative is that every night of our stay we could clearly hear the music from the night club bar until 2am. The weekend days by the pool was a drunk fest and so packed there was no room in the pool or a place to sit by the pool. On Sunday the drunk people were spilling out into the elevators, lobby and the streets. I thought that was a little irresponsible for the Hotel to allow this type of activity. --I received an oxygen facial at the spa at the Hard Rock Hotel. I thought the Oxygen Facial was overpriced and really didn't think the facial was worth the cost, I did think the spa was a great spa. The service was friendly, and clean. I would go back but for a different service.

"Great Base for San Diego"

The location is great, right at the end of the Gas Lamp Quarter and the hotel is very modern and comfortable. However, there are a few points that you should be aware of; 1. Hotel can be noisy, we were on the front of the hotel and there is a train line that passes by. There are extremely long freight trains that use the tracks throughout the night and although they are a little noisy the dinging bell of the crossing is what will annoy you. 2. While we were stopping, Prince was performing in the concert hall. The hotel was very busy and we decided to go the the roof top bar for a drink. We headed from our room the the 4th floor but were told that we had to go and join the queue outside the hotel in order to get into the bar. Upon arriving at the queue we were told it would be a 20-25min wait and a $15 entrance fee per person even though we were a guest. This was unless we had the VIP passes that we should have received at check in, which we did not. 3. Valet parking is $34 per night however, there is a parking garage around the corner which will charge only $12 per night as long as the car is taken out by 6pm the next day, just be careful if there is a Padres game on as you will struggle to get in. This is a lovely hotel to stop in for San Diego and i would recommend stopping here.

"Great hotel for the young and party types... not a business traveler"

3.0/5

Wed, May 15, 2013 West Saint Paul, Minnesota

I was in town for a conference and booked one of the Hard Rock suites in order to have some meetings outside of the convention center, which is located directly across the street. Very convenient. The hotel is beautiful and very modern. The rooms are clean and very nice. It is quite the place if you are young and into partying. However, if you are in town for business and need a quiet place to sleep after a long day of working and meeting with customers, this is NOT the place for you. I was there for 4 nights, and for 2 of those nights, I was up all night listening to the partying because Prince had 4 concerts on site. I was unaware of those concerts when I booked the room. I was looking forward to a quiet Sunday with the 4 meetings I had scheduled in the suite, but again, it was crazy. There was a Cinco de Mayo party just outside my room and the music was so loud that I could barely have my meetings. People were stupid drunk - screaming and yelling. It was very difficult to concentrate. Again, if you are into this scene, it would be a great hotel for you, but if you are in town for business or require private meetings, the Hard Rock San Diego is NOT a great place to be. And yes, I realize, I should have expected it in a Hard Rock, but I just want to warn the business traveler. The Marriott Marquis was much better for a business stay.

"Rock-tastic"

Tue, May 14, 2013 West Lafayette, Indiana

If you've never visited, much less stayed at a Hard Rock Hotel....you should. The staff, from check-in throughout are very courteous, smiling, helpful and kind. The memento’s on the walls is not something to be missed, not to mention some of the costumes some of our great rock stars have performed in....Like one of Elton John's more sparkling get-ups... There is a lot of rock history that you will easily miss if you don't stop and read. As for the night life....207 is a very, very nice night club with extremely nice looking staff. (Let's leave that at that) There are a ton of things to do that are well within walking distance, and if you like baseball, the Padres can be seen just a few short steps away. Go....Stay....Drink and dance....And have a wonderful time!
