"great hotel, good location.....would recommend"

5.0/5

Sun, May 19, 2013 Warrington, United Kingdom

Located in a gated complex of three Marriott hotels. Probably the cheapest of the three but still an excellent standard. Downtown Disney is probably half a mile away as the crow flies, but being the U.S. its probably better to drive there. This area is not like other parts of I drive, there aren't as many restaurants nearby but there are some very good ones. Golden Coral-massive buffet selection, Carraba (sp)-an excellent italian across the road. Plenty of other things within half a mile, outlet mall, Sizzler, Ci-Ci etc. If you have no car, you might be better around Wet and Wild where there are dozens of eateries nearby. Our room passed our "would I walk on the carpet barefoot?" test. Clean in the areas you could see, but it needed a hoover around some of the edges and behind cupboards to achieve 10/10. The bathroom was slightly lower standard than the room, our bath had an annoying squeak when stood in, but still very good. Two comfy double beds and a good size TV with plenty of channels. A very handy fridge and microwave. Air con was excellent. Breakfast was fine for me and free, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, bread, bagels, toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages. Maybe a lover of a full English breakfast would be a little dissappointed, but it would be satisfactory for most. It got busy after 8:30 but around 8am was no problem. Outside, the Golden Coral do a breakfast, plenty of others within 5 minutes drive. Rest of hotel was nice, I saw a fitness room, staff were friendly, free safes in the reception, ice machines, coffee facilities in the room and reception, laundry, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, ice cream bar in the complex. Pool was too cold for me so I used the adjacent Marriott Courtyard hotel gaining access using my room keycard which was better landscaped and heated. Access to the complex was via a barrier with manned security 24 hours. Others on here had reported being charged for parking, but i wasn't and saw no signs indicating this. Summary, only negatives was the pool temperature and the lack of deep cleaning, but would stay here again and would recommend to anyone.

"New to Me"

3.0/5

Sun, May 19, 2013 Tallahassee, Florida

The hotel seems about mid-range. It is not luxurious but it is also no bare-bones. The hotel is actually in a complex of 3 Marriott branded hotels which was a unique design to me. I was with a group and did not arrange for this stay. The building lobby and rooms are fine. The room I was in (two queen beds) was plenty big enough. I was far enough down the hall from the laundry, ice and elevators (hint the lower the room number the further you walk from the elevator). The quiet was not perfect. I could hear hallway traffic and unfortunately my next door neighbors were a bit rambunctious so I could hear them too. Well I also felt them since it seemed when they jumped on the bed my bed swayed too. Fortunately, those individuals were also in my party so I was able to resolve the problem. The room A/C worked great. It was set at 62 (brrrr) but I was able to adjust it up and it stayed there throughout my two night stay. The lamp over the desk would not turn on but I did not really need it though the lighting in the room could have been stronger. The bedside clock was real "el cheapo". It was also unplugged. So, I plugged it in and set the time. I could not set the alarm nor could I dial in a clear radio station. This probably is not even a worry any more for the electronically enabled traveler. The bathroom was clean. The shower got hot though I would have appreciated a bit more water pressure. I did not take advantage of the breakfast but I did scout out the "business center". Oh my. No free service here. 20cents a minute to use the computers. First time seeing that in my travels. Also had an odd experience at checkout. We were booked as a group and none of the desk staff could access that area in the computer system. A manager was called but we ultimately decided not to wait. The bus driver told me that at night there is not even anyone at that desk area. You have to go over to one of the other buildings to check in or see someone. Hmmmm.

"Clean, friendly, and close to Disney World"

5.0/5

Sat, May 18, 2013 alabama

The Fairfield Inn in the Marriott Village is very clean with an excellent breakfast including eggs! The oranges are particularly good when available. The place is one exit (68) before Disney World off I-4. We got to the Parks quicker driving than when we stayed inside. We walked across the back parking lot to Bahama Breeze and had a great dinner.

"Decent hotel at a reasonable price"

4.0/5

Wed, May 15, 2013 Nottingham, UK

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Lake Buena Vista, the last being 3 years ago, and both times I've found it to be a decent place to use as a base while exploring all that Orlando has to offer. The room was clean and the bed was comfy, we had no real issues with noise apart from some neighbours on our final few nights who had a tendency to make a bit of noise in the corridor, but nothing that kept us awake. The showers are powerful and there was always plenty of hot water available. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels delivered (slightly annoyingly even if you left them in the place that indicated you were willing to re-use, got to offset the flight carbon somehow). The room had a fridge which is vey useful for storing some in-room refreshments and a microwave which I guess would come in handy if you wanted to knock something simple together rather than eat out, or reheat some leftovers. The breakfast, while nothing special, is certainly good enough to fill up on before heading out for a day on your feet, with a reasonable selection of breads, bagels, english muffins, muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage, yoghurts, porridge, fruit etc. If you go early enough 6:30 - 7:30 it's very quiet, but it does get a bit busy around 8:30 onwards, but nothing too traumatic. The staff, with who we had little interaction because everything went so well, were all very pleasant and helpful. As others have noted, the lifts are fairly slow, so we opted to use the stairs most of the time seeing as it's only a 5 storey building. Each floor has a guest laundry with washers and dryers which at $2 for each was a reasonable price to do the obligatory mid-holiday wash. Didn't use the pool on this visit, but from what I remember from last time it was a simple affair in the courtyard at the centre of the hotel and is pleasant enough to lounge around in if you really don't have the energy to head out and do anything else. You do also have the option of using the pools in the Courtyard on Springhill on the same complex. The hotel is within walking distance of a number of restaurants either in the immediate vicinity or 10 mins walk away at the Crossroads Retail area just the other side of the I-4. This time we only really used the Bahama Breeze just across the car park out of the nearby places, mainly because it is awesome, but also because this time we wanted to explore further than we had done on our last visit. To that end, we decided to take a walk to Downtown Disney, rather than drive and discovered that at a moderately leisurely pace it's about a 30 minute walk, which is pretty handy if no one in your party wants to drive but you want to experience the restaurants in the Downtown Disney. The other plus of this is that you can walk to Downtown and then catch the Disney buses to any of the resort hotels which gives you the flexibility to try out the various hotel restaurants and bars without having to pay for taxis. If I-drive or City Walk is more your thing you can take a 10-15 min walk the other way from the hotel to the Premium Outlet mall and catch an I-Ride trolley up International Drive, or get off at Wet 'n' Wild and take a 10-15 min stroll to City Walk. Due to the I-Ride trolley finishing at 10:30pm this trick only works one way, but a cab from City Walk to the hotel is $30, so it makes a reasonable saving catching the trolley one way. We had a car for the duration of our stay so I can't comment on the scheduled transportation to the theme parks, but if you have a car you are well placed with easy access to both Disney and Universal, but equally well placed for things to do in the evening if you fancy a drink and don't mind a moderate amount of walking. So all-in-all a good hotel for those who want somewhere clean and comfy to crash in between the real reason you've gone to Orlando. If I go to Orlando again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel has had a hard time and well used as it is ideal for people using the parks,One big problem now as we were informed they are starting to charge for parking even though you have paid to stay here.We will not be using this property again when we are in Orlando as there are other properties who do not charge for parking including another Fairfield not far away even the breakfast was not as good as the other Fairfield inns we stayed at during our trip,Jacksonville,Jacksonville beach and Palm coast,They sould try a bit harder especially when they start to charge for parking as they will lose custom
