"HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!"

When I walked into the room for the first time, I felt so unsafe that my fiancé and I had to haul our things around town, we felt if we left our things back, (it would defininately would not be there, once we came back.) when we finally got inside the room, after our full day of fun. We felt hesitant to come back into our room. Please note: we only booked this hotel be because all of Key West nice hotels weren't in options for us. Continue; we took a shower, and I freaked out. There were spiders in there. Torn ugly paints that were chipped off the walls like a nasty bathroom off of a horror movie scene. Once I left the bathroom, a mosquito bit me. I don't know how it slipped in but I am getting bit as I am writing this. Please reconsider staying here if you like decent hotels. For the price that were paying, 200+ a night, I was hoping I can sleep without wondering what kind of bugs that are on the bed and around our sleeping area. My fiancé looked online of reviews on this hotels and the pictures does not look pleasant

"Nice hotel to stay for the price, close to Key West town"

We were looking for somewhere to stay in Key West for two nights and after searching the internet for a hotel that was close to the main area and finding most hotels were quite expensive, we found the Banana Bay resort which looked ok. Upon checking in and staying for the two nights, we found this hotel was pretty close to the town only being a short taxi or bus into town. The hop on hop off trolley stop is opposite which is a good way if you are going to do that tour to get into town and back to the hotel. You can hire a bicycle to get around if you enjoy that which is a great way to get into town and back as it is not that far. The hotel room was clean and comfortable and we had a room overlooking the pool area. We got exactly the type of room that we requested with no problem. There is no restaurant there but are close by, but to be honest there are so many nice restaurants in town, just eat in town and you won't be disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful and happy to assist. The time we stayed was really quiet there and very peaceful. Would not hesitate to stay there again on our return, check for deals with the different hotel websites as a lot of the hotels are pretty expensive however this was great value for the money.

Located in a quiet location about a mile from the buzz of Duval Street Banana Bay is a hotel of two personas. One is that of a peaceful setting with parking included, a decent sized pool, well maintained decking area ideal for lounging around, the must have Jacuzzi and a sandy ‘beach’ overlooking the sea with a patio area for taking in the view while having breakfast. Access to the sea is not advisable due to the rocks and sea weed. Although the rooms are big with two double beds, a TV cabinet & access to a balcony to enjoy sundowners, they are very dated and smell damp which we put down to the air conditioning unit and the lighting is very poor especially for those who like to read in bed. There was paint peeling from the walls especially in the bathroom, a very dated shower and only the area around the basin to store wash items although the room is a big size. The continental style breakfast is fine, the coffee good and the muffins delicious however if you like yours cooked (eggs, bacon etc..) then you will need to visit a local diner. The staff were indifferent, we felt like we had interrupted them from watching TV when checking-in. This hotel has so much potential with some TLC and decoration it could easily achieve a four star rating however in its current condition a 2 and a half at most.

Stayed here April28/30 with a friend we had a room on the 1st floor which was very clean if very dated but comfortable. The fan and air conditioning all worked plus the TV . The furniture was very dated and all stuck in an eighties time warp. The bathroom was clean but had paint peeling off the walls. I used the laundry room which was very cheap and good value. The Breakfast was OK nothing fancy but enough and good coffee and juice. This Resort could do with some money being spent on it to bring the rooms up to date - the outside and pool area is lovely. It really could be made up to a 4 star Resort quite easily with some money and interest from its owners and staff who I think have just lost interest over time.
