Spring Break can be great. It can be that amazing experience you’ll remember for years afterwards, reminiscing with your friends and bringing up those unforgettable moments. It’s got that magical touch to it; after all, it’s practically the first real vacation you’ll have after winter.

However, one Spring Break experience may be out of this world for one person and be drop dead awful for another. Just imagine the bookworm at the soul train party in Miami. Or the party girl saving turtles in Costa Rica. So to be sure you’re taking the right Spring Break for your personality, match yourself up to the type of traveler you are and see what adventures await.

The Adventurer

You may have made the most of the cold winter- skiing, snowboarding or even tubing-but now you’re ready for some real action. You have the chance to take some time off, and you’re up for something wild.

Solution: Scuba Diving Excursion!

Some of the best places to scuba dive stateside are in Florida. You can explore the USS Oriskany (1950s aircraft carrier that was sunk off the coast of Pensacola), or check out Key Largo’s John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, or even swim with manatees in the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge.

The Environmentalist

You want to have fun, but you really want to do something that doesn´t come with a dose of guilt on the side. You play your part in helping the environment, and want to make sure your conscious stays green.

Solution: Trail Work Expedition!

Travelocity heads up a great green program called Travel for Good. One of their current signature trips involves helping maintain and improve the trail heads on public lands in both Washington and Alaska.  You’ll meet new people, have fun, and still be able to play your part in helping the environment.

The Family Rock

You’re past the 4am clubbing scene and you’re now into the 11am brunch scene. Family is your pride, but it doesn’t mean you can’t have a great vacation too. You want to find something that will be great for both little Johnny and your significant other.

Solution: Road Trip!

Nothing bonds you faster than emergency bathroom visits and singing along to Journey. Depending on the ages of your travelers, you may want to do shorter distances at a time. In any case, new places can be discovered just down the road-literally.

The Partier

This is what you’ve been waiting for. It’s why you’ve made 5 different playlists and have been religiously going to the gym. You’re ready for the epitome of Spring Break: beaches, sunglasses, and maybe even a little bit of fist pumping.

Solution: Beach visit!

Everyone knows that the best parties during Spring Break are in Florida. No one has to worry about passports and you know the local language.  Hot spots include South Beach, Daytona, Miami, and Key West . (I can personally attest to the fun of Fort Lauderdale, although we won’t get into the details of why!) Luckily, you can save your money for daiquiris with this current 30% off promotional deal on tons of beach destinations here.

The Lounger

You´re dying for a vacation, but you don´t even want to begin to think about the planning that’s involved. Itineraries, flight, hotel, car, restaurants…it´s a headache waiting to happen and you think that’s the exact opposite of the word “vacation”.

Solution: Cruise!

This is probably the easiest and takes much less planning. All you have to do is get yourself on the boat! The only caveat is that some cruises require bookings a month in advance. Cruises these days are like floating 5 star hotels. Recently, Window Seat blogger Kate visited the Celebrity Eclipse, and our very own Roaming Gnome  went on both the Celebrity Eclipse and the Allure of the Seas;  you can check out his photos at www.facebook.com/travelocity.

The Romantic

You finally have some free time on your hands, and you’re looking to do something with the significant other. You’re looking for something low-key and relaxing. You’re looking for someplace where candles aren’t the only thing that makes the mood charming.

Solution: Island Getaway!

A friend of mine recently went to the Bahamas and loved it, but destinations such as Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Maya have been gaining in popularity too. You’ll find some great all-inclusive packages on Travelocity.com. You’ll have such a sunny and relaxing time, you’ll think, ” SPF I’m in Heaven!”

The Nature Lover

First thing you want to do now that you’re on break is to take a break…from everything. Get away from the city and into the real natural habitat. You’re ready for some crisp mountain air and a nice warm bonfire.

Solution: Natural Park Camping!

The best camping in my opinion are in national and state parks. I’ve been to Yosemite quite a few times, and have become an expert of fitting a week’s worth of food into one bear canister. Other national parks to consider are Glacier National Park, Badlands National Park, and Death Valley National Park.

Are you an adventurer or lounger? Are you the partier or the family rock? Or perhaps you fall into a category that is completely different. Do you have plans already for your Spring Break vacation? If so, I’d love to hear them! Feel free to leave a comment below.
