2008: The Wave…of American Flavors (Disney’s Contemporary Resort)

In 2008, The Wave…of American Flavors opened in Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Beneath the brushed steel arch “tunnel” into The Wave, you will find American-style cooking blended with world flavors. Learn more about this casual restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.


The Wave…of American Flavors is Disney’s foray into the realm of a sustainable, environmentally-friendly and market-inspired approach to casual dining. Located on the ground floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort to the right of the lobby check-in area, The Wave is a great choice for a family to escape the heat and crowds of nearby Magic Kingdom and enjoy a quiet, delicious meal.

2007: Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor (Magic Kingdom Park)

On April 2, 2007, the Monster’s, Inc. Laugh Floor started collecting laughs in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park. This kid-friendly comedy show, inspired by the Disney•Pixar film ‘Monsters, Inc,’ allows guests to become a part of the attraction – and it’s guaranteed to scare up a unique set of laughs each time!


Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor is an interactive attraction for guests from the human world that’s truly awesome!

1996: Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

1996 marked the debut of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Today, this foodie paradise has become one of the world’s largest annual events of its kind, with more than one million visitors ascending from across the globe to experience it yearly.  


What an opportunity!  Mixing my true heart’s desires … Disney, food and wine!  Throw a little music and shopping in the mix, and I’m the happiest person on Earth!  There’s no need to travel the world to experience different culinary delights.  If you’re a self-professed foodie, as I am, the only thing you need to know is that the 2011 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will be held from Sept. 30 to Nov. 13.

1994: First Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

In 1994, the first Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival was held. Learn more about this annual spring event that transforms Epcot with flowers, gardens, music and special presentations.


After months of freezing temperatures, incessant snow-shoveling and insufficient sunshine, nothing suggests the long-awaited coming of spring like those tiny, precious blooms that bravely poke their heads up through the frozen ground in March. Multiply those blooms by a few million and you will have the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival – a guaranteed cure for the wintertime blues.
